"Bills" lingers on the passion of classic soul music and conveys an intimate story from the confessional lyrical stance of the singer/songwriters from the '70s. With this as the foundation of the song, Bohannon took it a step further by emulating the classic sounds of the '70s by using dimensional production techniques paired with classic legendary equipment such as the Fairchild and Pultec pieces.
