Dead Ends is a chill, yet dance oriented single from downtempo producer Koresma. The tune features a strong vocal from Emma Sameth, garage style drums, and a bed of lush synthesizer and guitar textures. 

Dead Ends started pre-pandemic at a session curated by Ultra Music. Naturally drawing some inspiration from the dance oriented label/festival, the song took on an electronic dance feel. Only having a laptop and an idea started the night before, the studio session provided a final record vocal, Juno 60 bass, and Prophet 6 melodies. 

Lyrically the song was inspired by the feeling of being in a relationship that is a dead end. The vocal lends itself towards a positive outcome by finding your own sense of self worth. The production aimed to amplify that feeling with moments of silence and an optimistic ending. The song name stuck after Emma Sameth powerfully sang a lyric in the session.

Waves is a soulful downtempo jam that takes its inspiration from the ebb and flow of ocean waves. The dusty drums and vintage guitar lines create a bed of nostalgia reminiscent of old surf films like the Endless Summer, while the dreamlike vocal from Alaska Reid adds a modern contrast leading the listener through intricate instrumental electronic sections. 
 
“This song was inspired by the feeling of surfing a wave and the culture built around it. Having grown up surfing in Florida I spent countless hours watching surf movies and hoping to soundtrack them one day. The movie Endless Summer connected with me as a kid and I too dreamed of chasing down perfect waves on remote islands. Waves is the soundtrack to this quest and I hope it can take you somewhere.”

Offshores is a chilled dance track that takes its inspiration from sailing through the ocean waves. The cool grooves, voyaging guitar melodies, and wave-like percussion all aim to give the feeling like you're sailing across the water with no worries to be had.

“This song was inspired by sailing and the feeling of being carried by the wind over water. Sailing has always been in my life thanks to my father who learned from my grandfather; an accomplished sailor. I’ve had a few opportunities to experience being on the water sailing and have always wanted to translate this feeling into sound.” - Koresma

Mystic Sea

Compass is the focus track from the debut album Compass from Koresma. The song finds its way into the project via the sonic landscape of the North EP featuring a danceable beat and lush ambience. Compass was created after the whole album was finished and conceptually it serves as a combination of all the unique elements brought together on the album journey.

This album is about finding your own path and using your internal compass. This project has taken me many years to complete and musically I’ve grown in that time. The song Compass pays respects to early elements of my productions such as guitars and synths and I wanted to express where I am now musically with sounds like vocals and more danceable beats. To further commit to the concept, I used sounds from songs from each of the EP’s to help blend and evolve the sound palette.”

Trails - Koresma & Richard Houghten

Adaptations is the 2nd single from the upcoming Orange Feeling EP between Koresma and Richard Houghten. The song started at a session between the two artists in LA and blossomed into collaboration adding production from the talented Kyle McEvoy and Wowflower. The song is laidback and perfect for taking a tropical vacation in your mind to escape the winter cold. Adaptations is primarily acoustic and electric guitar driven held together by a deep drum groove. Great for all chill playlists!

Orange Feeling - Koresma & Richard Houghten

The "Divine" remix by Koresma is a blissfully chilled house rework of the emotional original by JT Roach. Leading off the release of JT's first original album, the remix came together very naturally for Koresma. The original elements such as the beautifully haunting vocal, nostalgic acoustic guitars, and warm pianos all set the framework for Koresma's chilled dance production. The song is perfect for unwinding after a long day at work with the mood lighting just right.

The Fork in the Road (Metic Remix) is a groovy listen perfect for starting out your day. The original dates back from my East EP and Jonny, Metic, incoporated the original sounds with his tasteful guitar and production style. Here's a few words from Metic about the remix: 

"In this remix, I offer up my take on Fork in the Road from Koresma's acclaimed Compass LP in 2023. This reinterpretation began w/ transcribing the chords on the guitar w/ some Frusciante-inspired voice-leading, followed by a catchy bassline that marries the guitar w/ the drums in a boombap groove."

Koresma - Fork In The Road (Metic Remix)

The Bridges (Piano Version) is a brilliant collaboration between Koresma and Josh Jacobson. The song pulls motifs from the core songwriting of the original thats compiled over 15 million streams across the DSP's and reimagines them in an ambient piano context. The theme of Bridges is to connect anyone despite their culture, race, or religion through the beauty of music, the one thing that breaks down all barriers. Musically the lush textures, organic sounds of the hammers and keys, and beautiful ambience all make the Bridges (Piano Version) a great listen for an focus or wind down activity.

The Mystic Sea (AK Remix) is a lush uptempo voyage through the electronic music landscape. AK takes elements of the original and uses his signature ambient style to create an emotional dance floor ready tune. AK is a legend among the chilled electronic scene and brings a unique element to all the music he creates. The Mystic Sea remix is no exception and makes a great pairing for any focus based activity.

The Kisnou edit of "Bridges" is a thrilling cinematic piece that takes you on an evolving electronic journey. The Italian producer used his unique sound design to transform the original stems of Bridges into something completely new, yet shares the same core emotion. The Bridges (Kisnou Edit) fringes on drum 'n bass, IDM, and downtempo and is all around an other wordly listen.

I have always wanted to dedicate a song to my Mom and Turquoise is finally that song. For as long as I can remember I have associated the color Turquoise with my Mom, as it was her favorite color. When I started producing the song I just kept seeing the color Turquoise in my minds eye and naturally that made me think of my Mom. What better way to bring more meaning to the music than to connect with the person who gave you life. I hope this song can help you dive a little deeper, chill out, and overall find some relief in this stressful, fast paced world we live in.

Eucalyptus is a collaboration with Asheville based artist named @marley-carroll. 

This song is special because it's one of the last pieces of music I finished while living in Asheville, NC before moving to Los Angeles. 

The name Eucalyptus is inspired by the fresh smell of the essential oil. The feeling of that smell matches perfectly with early Spring greens in Asheville and this song is a perfect compliment to the two. Fresh electronic vibes mixed with DJ scratching and electric guitar.

"Free" channels inspiration from my grandfather who grew up in the Faroe Islands. He told me stories about the vast openness, sheer cliffs, and moody weather and it has heavily influenced the sonic landscape of this EP. "Free" features a vocal from the super talented Alaska Reid.

The goal of this tune is to inspire hope and sense of adventure through the music. For myself getting out and exploring always leads to freedom and lots of growth. This song is about the the new paths and roads that we haven’t traveled, yet are eager to explore.

"Free" channels inspiration from my grandfather who grew up in the Faroe Islands. He told me stories of the amazing land, how they climbed cliffs to get bird eggs, and would go fishing out at sea. "Free" aims to capture this feeling of adventure and openness in a song. The remix by @marley-carroll does an amazing job at capturing the elements of the original but taking it to a new danceable space. The driving beat, syncopated synthesizers, and fresh vocal chops make for an exciting new listen.

From the remixing artist, "For the "Free" remix, I borrowed a technique from house music in which uptempo songs are pitched down by a few semitones and reworked as slow-motion boogie edits. This process created a new stretched-out feel that inspired me to build a hazy, chilled-out instrumental around the original vocal." - Marley Carroll

The "New Frontier" remix by Nifty Earth reworks the original into a deep house masterpiece. The driving beat, deep bass, and exquisite layering of strings, guitars and piano all make for an energizing listen. This tune aims to inspire hope and a sense of adventure, and Nifty Earth conveyed that feeling in his remix.
