Exciting young new-school innovator Spooky Cash-Cash has been hooked on dance culture since being left alone with turntables before he even hit his teens. In the years since, his passion for house music has deepened and his production chops have been honed while he has DJ'd everywhere from Glastonbury to Motion Bristol to Ibiza. The first release on his new label represents the two sides of Spooky Cash-Cash's sound - the peak time and the sundown, and future releases will continue with that day and night theme. 

The magnificent 'Together' was debuted at Spooky's sundown Café Mambo set last summer, and after originally being written on the piano, it became a more electro-tinged jam once worked up in the studio. It is grand in scale and epic in emotion, with sweeping, sombre chords arcing over a delicate, BICEP-style breakbeat. Add in hints of yearning vocal samples and you have something sure to soundtrack some special dance floor moments.

Forty years since its creation, Jon Hassell's Fourth World aesthetic remains a powerful influence on modern electronic music. Continuing his lifelong exploration of the possibilities of recombination and musical gene-splicing, fragments of performance are sampled, looped, overdubbed and re-arranged into beguiling unexpected shapes. Hassell applies the painterly technique of ‘pentimento’ to the arrangements, teasing out texture by the overlaying of sound upon sound, or a carefully timed reveal of the delicate bones pinning the frame of a track together.

The release of this new album also sees the launch of Jon’s own label, Ndeya (pronounced “in-day-ya”), which will be a home for new work as well as well as selected archival releases, including re-presses of classic sides and some astonishing unreleased music.
