Il y a toujours eu un piano à la maison. Mon oncle Pascal en jouait parfois, ma mère à de rares occasions. Moi je n'ai jamais "appris", mais j'écoutais, m'aventurais parfois à pianoter quelques notes… Ce que j'ai continué à faire jusqu'à aujourd'hui, écouter beaucoup, pianoter un peu. Il y a toujours un piano ici qui ne sert pas beaucoup, avec sous chaque touche cette sorte d'émotion latente, particulière, au potentiel immense, qui ne demande qu'à être activée par un toucher sensible. Et cela tout le monde en est capable, musicien-ne ou pas. D'où cette idée de faire un mix spécial Piano Day, avec un maximum de contributions originales enregistrées pour l'occasion. J'ai lancé des invitations à participer, trouvé un bon micro à prêter - merci Yvan! - et enregistré quelques beaux moments, la plupart improvisés (ou presque). Parmi les participant-e-s, il y a des ami-e-s dont la musique n'est pas forcément la pratique principale (ou le piano pas forcément l'instrument de prédilection) et d'autres que je ne connais pas mais dont la musique m'a touché lors de mes pérégrinations internautiques... As the days shorten, and the leaves fall, we are pleased to bring you this most appropriately seasonal release from Italian based musician, Francis M. Gri, entitled “Decays”. At times sounding like the soundtrack to a moody, somber Tarkovsky film, Gri has captured the din of the clatter and clang of life as it grows, and then rises in an uplifting anthemic glory to all that man has made, and unmade. "Second album from American trio Dawn Chorus and the Infallible Sea, consisting of zakè, Marc Ertel and Damien Duque. Together they're creating soft-textured and slowly unfolding sonic landscapes, somewhere between guitar-oriented drone music and modern classical. Liberamente is the kind of album that demands attention and patience from the listener, yet it's ultimately a very rewarding one. 

Stylistically Dawn Chorus and the Infallible Sea sums up several decades of American soundscape and drone music, taking threads from Windy & Carl, Auburn Lull, and Stars of the Lid then weaves them into a contemporary, and sonically adventurous whole. On the surface it suggests simplicity, but dig deeper and the seven pieces on Liberamente reveals a rare compositional dexterity. This is minimalism at its finest."

In the south of southern Spain, SanFernando (Cádiz) is surrounded by marshes and salt lakes, where we were both born and grown up among its labyrinths and landscapes.
‘Salinas’ has been encouraged by these spaces so familiar to us, now that we have visited them again after many years. They have united us to write eight songs inspired by the most important salt mines that existed and that is why they bear their names.
We have worked on the calmness of sound, silences and repetitions, as these places sound now. We wish you like it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
