With 14 releases to date, he has transformed his devotion to alternative musical forms into reality. Our next Mixtape comes from the Polish producer Cafe de la Jungle, where he has recollected some of his latest inspirations in terms of pace and rhythms.


Cafe de la Jungle is Tomasz Zając, a Kraków-based producer who is using modular synthesis, field recording and sampling techniques to build mystical worlds on twelve-inch discs. He’s recently released Tuvan Spirits EP (Dans de la Desert, 2022), where he explores his fascination and interest in shamanic practices in highly dynamic sound environments.


His excellent debut Dancing with Cicadas was rife with dangerous and mysterious rhythms, but Cafe de la jUngle takes a more laid-back approach in the new EP. 
Built around cavernous ambience and bass notes, sounds that paint a picture of a dance ritual so subtle, it’s visceral and highly narrative at the same time. 


We were enthralled with his rhythms and track unfoldings. For the mix he has prepared, He shares that It’s an extension of his latest inspirations and direction of music in terms of pace and rhythms. I’ve been listening lately to a lot of halftime, trip-hop stuff. Naturally, with listening, there is a lot of digging and collecting music. I had this feeling that this style would be perfect for your mixtape series.

Some time ago, he used to work in the music industry in the UK. After realizing that his soul is more dedicated to the music itself, than to the cruel business machinery, he moved back to Rome, where he is based at the moment. He is an essential part of the Hypnus records family, alsongside his close friends Ntogn, Luigi Tozzi and others. With his deep and dubby approach to the sound, he developed a very strong signature of his, notable on his tracks released on Hypnus. 
This podcast is a good definition of what Feral stands for in his musical expressions. Not going way too hard on the tempo, this meditative sonic trip has an impact on every emotional human being like is the creator himself.
This August emanated his genuine passion very brightly at our Harmony Open Air - thanks again for that.

Growing up in the countryside of the Netherlands, Matthijs Verschuure found himself surrounded by endless polder horizons, green fields and the sea. It didn’t take long however for @mattheis to find his residence in the industrial harbour town of Rotterdam, where he further developed his synthesizer explorations and crafted his propulsive, hypnotic sound.

The @nousklaeraudio mainstay signed his first release “Isms” with the label in early 2013, followed by a handful of EP’s, remixes and two studio-albums; “Kindred Phenomena” (2016) and “Thin Sections” (2018). His most recent works include collaborations with French label @ahrperecords founder Amandra (@amandraaa), plus a solo EP “A Falcon’s Eyrie” (2020).

Mattheis' Patterns of Perception 61 expands on his modus operandi in the studio, featuring rolling waves of insistent rhythms drenched in a deep ambience of atmospheric sounds, with a focus on subtle changes serving the greater whole of the recording.
