Music is the medium in which Kostka sees the world and it is playing on repeat. As someone who’s played music since before he could speak, he feels lucky to have something that has been a constant in his life. He hopes everyone can find that.

Moving to New York City from Michigan stirred a lot of emotion and creativity that he poured into his music. There was a clean slate feeling in his move, a fresh start that clearly translates in his new single, Simple.

Kostka also found inspiration through playing and collaborating with other creatives living in New York. Late-night experimenting, sharing energy and learning from each other is a new step in his creative process that elevated his sound.

Kostka’s creative process is both meticulous and scattered in the same breath. Meticulous in the way he tweaks sounds and replays  20+ variations of the same 15 second clip, but fluid in the way that he allows each sound and song to guide him to what is next; not sticking to any one plan. 

One of the best parts about Kostka is he is authentic to himself. There is a lot to be said for someone who shows up and can be who they are without veil or filter. Kostka’s music is his interpretation of life and it is authentic to how it makes him feel.
