Gramatik - Anima Mundi Ft. Russ Liquid (Kotek Remix)

Usually I like to be experimental and add different chords when I remix a song but I absolutely loved the harmony in this song the first time I heard it. I ended up just playing guitar over it to add a slightly different feel. As for the drop, I've never worked with crazy trap samples like that so it was super fun to try and incorporate and juxtapose it against a more future style chord patch. This was a super fun project to work on,

I couldn't live with myself if I passed up this opportunity to remix this song.

Deadmau5 was nearly the only artist I listened to when I first started getting into electronic music. I was so inspired by what a clean and flawless sound he could create. It was such a pleasure getting to see the inner workings of this track. 

I honestly have no idea what happened to me while I made this. I think I have broken every piece of advice I've ever received or given.  I had so many ideas and only about 3 solid days to work on it. but the end result is a true testament to my insanity.
I knew there was no way I could pull the win this time, Mau5trap would never release a song like this. 
My sound has strayed far from where it started but I couldn't just write a song with the hopes that it would please the label. 
This is only a tribute to Deadmau5, my way of saying thanks for helping me get to a point where I can turn your 11 minute cinematic masterpiece into a 5 minute ride down the rabbit hole.
