Following up on their debut transmission for A Tribe Called Kotori released in the winter of 2021, “Hypnos”, Berlin duo Acado returns to us with “Como te Llamai” featuring Vincent Marlice. Advocates of a lushly variegated, heavily syncopated electro-acoustic sound - grinding down the warm summer vibes of balearic along with a fine concoction of revamped Afro-funk tropes and classic housey chug, the pair dishes out a satisfyingly warm and infectious new specimen of their signature easy-going, nature-loving blends. 

Blowing the winds of Latin sensuality across the dancefloor, “El Aguante” takes us on a dreamy ride through mystique-imbued territories, xylophonic notes mischievously tobogganing down the octave ladder as the sturdy bass keeps us busy shaking our limbs in sync. Lead single “Como te Llamai” taps in a further jagged form of rhythmic expression whilst highlighting Vincent Marlice’s balmy timbre in the most delicate manner. Fusing brittle kalimba chords with a hip-rolling swing, world-pop accents and hazy atmosphere, Acado’s new cut is a polyamorous confluence of colours. Buenos Aires’ very own Kermesse duo cap it all off with a further slo-churning rendition of “Como te Llamai”, easing us in an effervescing smorgasbord of mangled folk riffs, patagonian jazz stabs and slo-drip hacienda hoodoo, bound to keep all booty-shakers in check throughout.

Taking over with their much anticipated debut on A Tribe Called Kotori, RAMMÖ and Spaniol are at it again on their second collaborative project, 'Pegasi Cinqo'. Respectively based out of the South of France and New York, Rammö & Spaniol are that power unit of talents that causes sparks to fly. Infused with both their own personal backgrounds and origins - one having roots in Spain, the other in Brazil, this first instalment from the duo on our platform oozes with that Latin warmth at heart and groovy suavity that simply can't leave one cold. Inspired by their performance at the Polygon stage during last year's edition of Wonderfruit festival in Thailand -- a very special stage complete with a 360-degree sound system and bespoke light works -- which left a durable impression on them, Rammö and Spaniol were inspired to try and reignite these sentiments into actual compositions that translate both the nostalgic elation and bliss felt in this moment in time. Now for everyone to enjoy.

Both fruits of the same palette, 'Quinta Vida' and 'Pegasi Leque' share instrumental similarities, especially in the use of the flamenco-style guitars, which as the duo underlines serve as a unifying element. A forward-moving, hip-shaking roller, 'Quinta Vida' blazes with the vibrant colors that innervate their tracks and mutual feelings of love and respect Rammö and Spaniol have for one another both as artists and friends. Nimbly walking the tightrope between Andalusian hedonism and loungey house vibrations on a silky balearic tip, it's an elegantly woven, after-ready flower of sound that blooms with every bar. More of a tinted, sensual weapon for the in-between hours, 'Pegasi Leque' reels out a dynamic train-like chug associated with Spanish guitar riffs and FX-drenched syncopations. Like the nocturnal match to 'Quinta Vida' and its heavenly solar ambience, this one casts a spell of night-loving eroticism with its nearly whispered vocal part enticing us down the path of lace-clad fleshliness. Steamy business.

Back on ATCK with his first solo contribution since the release of 'Cloudfare' three years ago, Elias Doré returns to ATCK with 'La Llorona' - a special revisit of the eponymous Mexican folk classic featuring M.O.N. on vocals and Leipzig's Atric on remix duty. Discovered through Montse, alias M.O.N. herself, this widely known song finds itself transformed into a club-ready anthem and proper summer flavoured slo-burner. Bringing it into a "danceable form that meanders between feelings of melancholy and a sense of fragile beauty" in Doré's own words, the pair take us on a languidly hypnotic jaunt, from humming it together for the first time as they walked across the lush landscapes of the Canary Islands with a ukulele to actually recording it the studio in just a few hours. With its slo-evolving pads tracing across poetic hyperspace, 'La Llorona' unfolds its bright and deep interlacing of "sadness and beauty, with the lyrics being at times rather dark, but the overall emotional landscape of the track drifting towards an energetic peak that is also uplifting in a way". Handed over to Atric, the track puts on some more drum-laden weight and arpeggiated effervescence, stretching further into cosmic house territories as we're invited to cast off and dance our life away to the beat of this memento-mori in sound, beautifully rendered in a newly dynamic yet true-to-the-original version for the dance floor.

Straight from your dreams, the first track 'Ya Nahar Ya Gamel' is a shimmering mirage of primal rhythms, featuring the mesmerizing vocals of Weam Ismail. Swiss producer Dandara lends a spoodly, spaced out slow-tech vibe and a sassy saturation of synths to his remix. Sabo and Alkaline Georg take the cut for a whirl on the dancefloor, adding a thumping groove and thick slick of chunky bass to the EP’s third rendition of the cut.

The second track ‘Ma Gally’ is purely hypnotic: ethnic techno at its most holy. Weam Ismail is back with his languorous vocals in this swoon-worthy number.  Remixed by Flowers on Monday, the same tremulous spirit remains, the cut’s pure instrumentals accentuated with a hot flush of basement ready antics. Care of LUM Down to the Sky, the third remix takes on a ceremonial persuasion with its delicate, percussive rich exotica. 

An ode to the oasis: this EP embodies all that is lush. Until the tribe can dance together again, channel the sound of the collective with this glorious EP.
