Takuya Matsumoto might not be the most widely heralded name but for many years his music has been soundtracking special moments on dancefloors the world over. He has released music on the likes of Meda Fury, Royal Oak and Clone’s Jack For Daze amongst many others and his approach to House music is unique and playful drawing from an eclectic array of influences and musical spheres.

His own music has been heralded and acclaimed, finding its way on to the playlists of Floating Points and Move D for a decade. Floating beneath the surface of the underground scene he has never been one to seek the limelight or fame all the while putting out deeply emotive and complex compositions which certainly deserve it.

His track ‘Jump Rope Music’ might be best known but in all honesty it’s just one in what is a special catalogue of music worth its weight in gold.

This mixtape is a rare treat as we catch up with the Japanese marvel who is about to drop his ‘Tape Is Rewound EP’ on Fina Records.
