Featuring world percussions and deep analogue chord progressions, Unexpected Voyage is laden with complex and exotic musical scores that draw the listener into Kousto's island illusions. Vocals by Kousto are seen at length on the EP – a first for the artist on in any of his releases. 

Unexpected Voyage is the sixth release by Kousto and is a gateway into the producer's mind’s eye: postcards of memories, reflections on the future. Designed to subtly delve into deep life-defining questions, the concept EP tells the story of an island castaway who chooses, in spite of a seemingly perilous scenario, to embrace the elements and the hope and beauty that the unknown island brings with it.

Kousto first emerged in 2018, which since his presence on the emerging artist scene has been firmly established with a slew of critically-acclaimed releases and support from artists including Laurent Garnier, Honey Dijon and Folamour. Kousto has been tipped as “one to watch” by BBC 1 and BBC 1 Dance, with early specialist media support & a frequent name on the UK event & festival scene. His releases have been tipped as an “Ibiza Dance Floor Moment” by TSHA on BBC1 Radio and also supported by the likes of Disclosure in their Cercle set.

Remembered for his dreamy deep house soundscapes inspired by the south of France, Kousto channels memories of summer along the coast. While the producer relocated to London in the mid-20s to soak up the creativity and multiculturalism that the metropolis beholds, Kousto remains synonymous with analogue sounds and musical waves that journeys listeners through poolside paradigms. 

Kousto first emerged in 2018. Performing under a pseudonym, the artist’s name is inspired by the French explorer, Jacques Cousteau. Since his inception, his presence on the emerging artist scene has been firmly established with a slew of critically-acclaimed releases and support from artists including Laurent Garnier, Honey Dijon and Folamour; the latter of who also acts as his production adviser. 

Kousto has been tipped as “one to watch” by BBC 1 and BBC 1 Dance, has received press coverage in Resident Advisor, Liberation, and Mixmag and is a regular on the UK festival and event scene. In 2019, Kousto launched Little Foot Records – a platform for the French producer to exercise complete creative freedom and see his ideas come to fruition. Since, Kousto has released a suite of EPs on the label, the first being Step by

Step in 2019. Next to follow was The Tombolo on Kombava Records (2019), of which its principal track “Wildin’ Out” led to the widespread acknowledgement of Kousto across the mediasphere. 2020 saw the release of “Guadapipi” on Little Foot Records – a track tipped as an “Ibiza Dance Floor Moment” by TSHA on BBC1 Radio. Following this, Kousto’s summer EP, The Aquarium Effect, received attention for its hit track “The Job” ft. Aroop Roy which was supported by Disclosure in their Cercle set in August 2020. 

In 2021, Kousto's new year single release "Earth Embassy" earned itself media attention due to its hopeful affirmations in the face of the pandemic that waged on. April 2022 marks Kousto's sixth release: Unexpected Voyage. Upholding his familiar style of musical dreamscapes that recall summer settings and far-off places, Unexpected Voyage is a gateway into Kousto’s mind’s eye: postcards of memories, reflections on the future.

Kousto is releasing a very unique summer single called I Can Feel It. London based Frenchman, Kousto follows up his recent Step By Step release on Little Foot Records. Featured on Mixmag, Delicieuse Musique and supported by the likes of Laurent Garnier, Project Pablo, Folamour, Simbad and many others. 

 At the beginning of the summer Kousto went back to south of France to visit his old childhood friend Michel who has always lived in an old provencal house overlooking the bay of Bandol. While they were returning from fishing walking barefoot on the scorching Mediterranean rocks, a sweet memory resurfaced. When they got back home Kousto jumped on the piano and played a groovy bass line while Michel sang "I can feel it". Yes, we could feel this atmosphere commemorating years of French touch with the sounds of Modjo, Daft Punk or more recently the tragic death of Philippe Zdar member of Cassius.  The First song of the Single is a clubby one including a wide wave of chords and organic drums.   The second track of the single is a chiller version reflecting Kousto’s love for Jazz, deep and dreamy sounds evoking the sea and golden sands of the Côte d’Azur.
