Danny J Lewis - Spend The Night (Snazzy Trax Dub)

This October will see Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse imprint offer up an eleven-track compilation in the shape of ‘Madhouse Amsterdam 2015’.

The Madhouse imprint was launched in 1992 by Kerri Chandler and since its inception has been a driving force in the world of underground house having released material from the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Roy Ayers, Tony Lionni and of course the label-founder himself. Here we see the label, two decades deep, continue its momentum with more hard-hitting house cuts.

Across the eleven tracks we hear the New Jersey house aficionado deliver a slew of exciting new talent via his long running imprint, with established contemporary house producer Washerman delivering fresh original material. Plus a string of newcomers such as W&O Tracks Rhythm Operator
teaming up with Blueshift for ‘Perculating Nights’, Amsterdam’s Ghetto Chords with ‘Preacher Boy’, Greek producer Sek who delivers the rough and ready ‘Hide & Kiss’ and London’s Jason Lee Ward’ with ‘Lost In The Crowd’ plus many more.

The ‘Madhouse Amsterdam 2015’ compilation is out on Madhouse Records 9th October 2015.

Pets Recordings are back with a two track EP from little known Sheffield upstart, Squarehead. Built with the warehouse environment in mind, ‘Those Things You Do’ and ‘Elevation’ draw you in with rolling deep bass, inner-city rawness and classic, foot-shuffling drum patterns. Bringing together traditional dance floor inspired themes with discernibly new school nuances, Squarehead’s offering fits the Pets’ fun, club-centric aesthetic perfectly. 

‘Those Things You Do’ is driven by a simple yet absorbing melody, while fuzzy interference and echoed layering sets out to warm even the bleakest warehouse brickwork. The most refreshing thing about ‘Elevation’ is without question its uplifting, “proper house” vocal. Produced alongside Mistamen’s Mella Dee, its buoyant bass line and UK Garage reminiscent, tribal drum flutters will have you locked to the floor from the first bar.
