Davide Gualandi bio:
@daviday grew up in Italy. He played in some bad hardcore bands
in the 90s and wrote for some fairly respected music magazines in the 2000s. He DJs noisy psychedelic music and supports the weirdos who populate the NYC scene.

About the mix:
"My midlife crisis brought me to the inevitable purchase of a rotary
mixer. Since I'm bad at mixing anyway, I bought a MasterSounds Radius 4, which just features an hi-pass filter on each channel instead of the usual EQs. I wanted to make a dance mix for a long time, but it's taking me a bit to learn how to DJ on this thing. Maybe I'll sell it and buy a Pioneer. Anyway, the mix is made of a lot of unreleased tracks that friends have sent me, plus some classics on Djax-Up-Beats, Viewlexx and L.I.E.S. I tend to open nights or play "yurt sets", so I took unusual and weird tracks and tried to make it dancey for the party that initiated me to techno." - Davide

A curated series where we commission artists to make an hour long mix of whatever inspires them to experiment, produce, and what they listen to.

Something different on the Mesh mix series this month, next up,  Kiara Scuro. The London based duo present their warm up set that raised and set the bar for the evening, recorded live from Phonox, London on Sat 14 August as part of Max Coopers' 4 nights at Phonox Residency. 

With guest shows on World Wide FM and Balamii Radio where they've showcased their tastes for varying genres and sounds from across the globe, and invited guests like Gilles Peterson and Mehmet Aslan to join them. Kiara Scuro are quickly becoming familar faces in some of the worlds most infuential and coverted clubs and festivals. Thanks to Rose and Nadia for contributing to the series!

Hailing from the picturesque banks of the Danube river, Leela's life has been a symphony of diverse musical influences since her earliest days. Although she now calls Amsterdam home, her wanderlust leads her on a dance through Europe, a journey of discovery as she immerses herself in the intricacies of global electronic music subcultures spanning the ages. With the instincts of a child and the wisdom of a seasoned traveler, she molds her own unique musical universe, savoring every step.

Leela's relationship with music is an affair of the heart, where poetic melodies merge and intertwine, embracing your senses with gentle caresses or sudden, exhilarating sweeps. Inspired by the beauty of the natural world, Leela embarks on a personal challenge in our podcast series. She takes us on a spontaneous and yet conceptual meditative post-rave journey. The story unfolds in an unhurried flow through trance-soaked melodies, a swirling mosaic of ethereal ambient electro sounds, building breaks, and hypnotic samples.
