It’s been a busy 2014 so far for label head Dubfire. Whilst nothing unusual for the Persian-born producer, with the revival of Deep Dish (alongside Sharam), the release of their new single 'Quincy', the continuation of the SCI+TEC radio show, the release of his much vaunted remix of 'Come' featuring Asia Argento and his relentless global touring schedule, it would be a surprise to find even a slither of studio time for original Dubfire productions…

But find he did and today he unveils EXIT, his new single and collaboration with the first lady of techno, Miss Kittin. The pair have wanted to work together for years now and after a few idea exchanges they managed to sink their teeth into something magical. The strong low-end Dubfire groove is evident once again on EXIT as the pair playfully chop and reverse Kittin's vocals, pushing and withdrawing the bass to allow her sultry vocals to shine. On the flip we're treated to the electrifying wall of sound that is MIDIAN with its all-enveloping bass, pierced by energizing and synapse-searing shocks.

KHYPE040 - Toronto's Kozmik Hype Recordings returns with DJ Mystik Mike and the 'Black Magic EP', the new single in the label's distinctive house music style.

A mainstay on the Toronto scene, Mystik Mike has been spreading the house message since the 90s as a DJ, club owner, and radio show host. With 'Black Magic', Mike delivers a solid groove with pulsating basslines and clean accents. The bulk of the cut is built around a big bass sound, synth, and shuffling percussion. The Keys are teased out before coming in proper with the breakdown.

Keeping it a Toronto affair, remixes come from fellow veteran Canadian DJ's Paul Stickman and Steve Venom.

The techno remix from Paul Stickman (Stickman Records, Aquarius Recordings, DNH, SCI+TEC) slowly evolves into darkness with a mesmerizing effect and sinister breakdown rolling into a pounding kick drum.

Steve Venom's remix focuses on an acid bass line and tech-inspired tribal chops, with a quirky fix to it

KHYPE043 - Mystik Mike returns to the KHYPE imprint with his first release of 2017 entitled the 'Keep on Livin' EP. Keeping it a Canadian affair, Mystik teams up with fellow Canadian Dj / Producer Carlos Fuerte, who has been spreading the message of soulful and deep rhythms since the early 1990's.

The original mix is a dark pumping tribal arrangement, laced with sparkling synthesizers that fuse perfectly with rolling basslines and energizing vocal stabs.

The Carlos Fuerte remix creeps in with driving percussions and an explosive baseline, easing into sexy grooves and vocal stabs.

Both mixes are guaranteed to generate mayhem on any dancefloor!
