Where many performers fall victim of the same old cliches, JBando dares to think differently. As a result, he is able to make the most out of his fantastic songwriting, with some amazing production help courtesy of JBeats.
His most recent release, PositiveEnergizingCrystalLights (V.I.P.) is a perfect example of his amazing energy and forward-thinking approach. The beautiful, psychedelic album artwork is actually a really great match to the diverse and wide-ranging tone that you can expect from this lush and amazing release.
The song kicks in with a cool synth introduction. I love the vintage tone of this analog-like synth and it really puts the intro of this song under a different light, giving it a lot of fantastic groove and rhythm. If you are a fan of artists such as Lupe Fiasco or Childish Gambino, you are going to know where this is going and you will definitely be hooked from the very start!
The beat has that quintessential trap thump, with the unmistakable feel of juicy 808 samples. I love the depth of the bass tones, and how the groove really suits the sound of these sitar-like melodic lines. There is an amazing melodic drone, which fits so well with the vocals. JBando’s style makes me think of Mac Miller, as well as Lil Peep. His rap style is more melodic and direct with a stronger take on delivery. Some rappers always try to stick as many words as they possibly can into one line. On the other hand, JBando is more than just a spitting machine. He wants to create a flow that is actually melodic as well! On this song, he makes me think of some of those artists who are able to combine great melodies with astonishing hip-hop lyrics. I am thinking of performers such as Chris Brown as well as Frank Ocean, just to mention a few. There is really a special vibe about people who are so committed to creating quality music, and JBando is definitely one of them. This song combines amazing production aesthetics and lush tones. The master of the song is also really loud and clear, meaning that you can really pump that bass as loud as you want, without losing any of the clarity. I love the nice saturation, which brings a special character to the song. The end of the track is almost like a surprise. I love the last rap flow, which almost has somewhat of a freestyle vibe to it! It’s hard to describe, the best thing you can do is actually experiencing it first hand because this is exactly what you should do with great music. Amazing rap knows no boundaries, and it gets creative at every twist and turn. As I mentioned, JBando is a quintessential example of a creative rapper, because he is never focalized on creating just a single style. You can’t lock him in a cage, and he is always free to experiment, experience and channel new amazing creative avenues.
What I love about PositiveEnergizingCrystalLights is that it blurs the lines between different styles, including trap and neo-soul, only to mention but a few. JBando is always keen on showcasing his amazing vocal prowess, and on this track, it really stands out. This mix will hit you like a breath of fresh air on a hot summer day, with its refreshing, energizing qualities. Yet, in spite of the innovative spirit of this release, there is a familiar sense of warmth to the sound, which definitely makes me think of celebrated and iconic artists such as Mac Miller, Kanye West and Post Malone, only to name a few. JBando certainly has what it takes to stand among those aforementioned giants, and listeners will certainly connect with his passion and willingness to express himself through music.

JBando has just dropped his brand new rap single “tellmeaboutit (prod. JBeats).” Based in Lawton, US, this artist has been releasing a slew of tracks that have been garnering him a fan base on an international level. 

The artist’s new release features a textural soundscape that immediately draws the listener into the song. The multi-layered instrumental gives “tellmeaboutit (prod. JBeats)” an attractive and immersive atmosphere. 

The lyrical flow featured “tellmeaboutit (prod. JBeats)” is distinctive and unique. JBando’s performance is raw and authentic as he weaves engaging stories that are perfect alongside the hazy dream-pop vibes. 

The artist’s style is reminiscent of rap icons such as Mac Miller, J-Cole, Childish Gambino, and Drake, to mention but a few. This gives the artist plenty of room to showcase his vocals, lyrics, and style.  Memorable lyrics such as “I’m looking at your body / I can’t ask for more” echo in the listener’s mind after the song has finished. JBando’s raw vocal performance adds to the layers of this melodic track! 

One of JBando’s most significant influences in his career is himself. He is constantly looking inward and creating introspective lyrics based on his own life experiences. As an artist, this is an important feature. By looking to his own thoughts and feelings for inspiration JBando will always have a stream of ideas and clear direction to travel in.
At just 2 minutes and 33 seconds, the only problem with the track is that it definitely leaves you wanting more!  JBando is a prolific rap artist and composer, so he’s sure to release more fresh tracks soon.
