Therapy Therapy 50 was recorded on a train from Basel to Berlin by one of our all-time favourite artists, Joseph Kamaru aka KMRU. 

Theory Therapy listeners will most likely be very familiar with the Berlin-based producer’s extensive and lauded catalogue already. The Nairobi sound artist has been pivotal in broadening ambient music’s terrain over the last few years, both in the way it is produced and what it can be (for one thing, that it should never be reduced to a single sound or concept; great ambient is many, often contradictory, things all at once.)

His mix contains all of the hallmarks that make his music so engaging. It’s a masterclass in tone and texture, delicately moving between a kaleidoscope of sounds by some of electronic music’s most interesting creators — a fitting way to celebrate the 50th episode in the series. Theory Therapy 50: KMRU

“The Leper Kissed The Saint” is the last of a sonic essay trilogy (after “A Color Named Nothing” and “On Any One Of Those Notes”) that explores the presence of voice in independent recordings – this time inspired on R. D. Laing’s 1967 work “The Politics of Experience and The Bird of Paradise”.

This recording was aired 21.02.2024 on @lyl_radio for French label @disques-de-la-spirale, and released on limited edition hand-made tape. The C90 cassette contains 30 extra minutes of unreleased recording, exclusive for the physical format.

Théréon - Mi Olin Ep

Théréon est un jeune groupe composé de Camille Théréau et Paul Souviron, provenant de la scène Strasbourgeoise. Mi Olin signifie mon amour, cet Ep parle de sentiments, 6 chapitres d’un amour simple, doux et fort avec tout ce que cela comporte. Mélangeant plusieurs style en crescendo, pop, trap, wave, ils évoquent des tranches de vie, des tableaux aux textes doucement criés sur des boucles lourdement suaves.

Bio rapide:

Camille Théréau est guide conférencière, elle travaille aussi dans la régie et la production d’œuvre d’art. Elle est musicienne et Dj sous le projet Kmithre. Elle s’occupe de la production pour le label Carpaccio Cathedrale.

Paul Souviron est artiste plasticien, il a exposé dans plusieurs lieux en France (Fondation Schneider, Mécènes du Sud, Quai Branly, …) et à l’international (Biennale de Venise, musé Artium Pastis en Espagne, Language plus au québec, …). il est co-fondateur et DA du label Carpaccio Cathedrale. Il est producteur et Dj sous plusieurs projets (Dest Temp, Orcœur, Bet Set, Pectoflam)

Théréon - Mi Olin Ep

Théréon is a young band made up of Camille Théréau and Paul Souviron from the Strasbourg scene. Mi Olin means my love, this ep is about feelings, 6 chapters of simple, sweet and strong love, with all that that entails. Mixing several styles in crescendo, pop, trap, wave, this Ep evokes slices of life, paintings with lyrics softly shouted over heavily suave loops.

Quick bio:

Camille Théréau is a conference guide who also works in art direction and production. She is also a musician and DJ with the Kmithre project. She is in charge of production for the Carpaccio Cathedrale label.

Paul Souviron is a visual artist who has exhibited in a number of venues in France (Fondation Schneider, Mécènes du Sud, Quai Branly, etc.) and abroad (Venice Biennale, Artium Pastis museum in Spain, Language Plus in Quebec, etc.). He is co-founder and director of the Carpaccio Cathedrale label. He is a producer and DJ on several projects (Dest Temp, Orcœur, Bet Set, Pectoflam).

Invited by Gaillard, Ukrainian multimedia artist Ihor Okuniev composed the sound piece Fields, 2024, which resonates from the courtyard grotto. Part of an evolving work, Fields aims to evoke the atmosphere of the landscape surrounding the artist during the war; field recordings of frozen forests, “cold” winter sounds of nature, complete the synthesized rhythms of the composition. A trace of symbolic and personal memory that becomes a vibrant fragment in the vortex of history.
