Robert Hines, Chad Mc Carthy and myself (Kelly) have an on-going background project called "the GAP" (Guitar And Piano) - this was the first collaboration of ours with Rob on Guitars, Chad on Keys and my voice.  We pulled this arrangement together in just under 3 hours... and the rest is history.  Enjoy.

Ok, so I loved  what we did, but I decided to take a risk. I kept the music the same from Rob and Chad and went back into the studio to experiment with "Shine". I was looking for more of a gospel choir thing and just started layering vocals, on layer of vocals, on top of layer. What I got, was indeed different, both in energy and tone - but I like it.  Just to let you know, ALL the vocals are me (the highs and lows) without any processing.  

Thus started the path of me re-arranging tunes.....

I was auditioning for a local band, and I was given the assignment to take one of their songs and create lyrics for it and I had to have it ready by the next day... so I did one further and went into the studio and wrote this in just under 4 hours.  The song is about the duality of Nice guy and Bad boy that lives in me... and the Bad boy wins out and puts the Nice Guy out of commission... hence the title.

Ultimately I didn't get the gig, but it was a good thing since they broke up a couple months after hiring their new singer....
