Boogie Angst is a real go to label for Le Visiteur. Helmed by the inimitable Kraak & Smaak it’s a label which is keeps the Nu Disco flame burning bright. Whilst delving into broader the universe delivering real quality every single time.

One of the highlights of the year for us are their Editions compilations, a series which is now clocking up it’s Fourth Annual Edition. As always they have pulled together some of their regular label artists and paired them with some new additions to the fold, rounding up some of the finest moments from the labels last 12 months alongside some VERY hot new tracks.

Edition Four boasts a talent packed tracklist including LV favourites Marcel Vogel & Lyma, Luxxury, Georges, Moods, Casbah 73 and of course Kraak & Smaak. As always it’s packed with absolutely stand-out tracks.

Diogo Strausz, renowned for his extraordinary contributions to the world of funk and disco, delivers glorious guitar grooves interlaced with phased rhythmic elements that are sure to get shoulders moving. His impeccable craftsmanship and innovative skills, honed from a young age in Rio de Janeiro, have seen him rise to international acclaim as a producer and multi-instrumentalist . As part of the duo Balako, his music has been released on Razor-N-Tape, Barefoot Beats, and Greco-Roman. His recent work includes the celebrated orchestral piece Pausa, collabs with Brazilian artists like Castello Branco and Alice Caymmi, working with Mario Caldato Jr. of The Beastie Boys, co-producing the album Les Bruits de La Ville for French artist Voyou, and remixing for Brazilian legend Gal Costa. 
Nic Hanson, the Philadelphia-born American singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, joins Strausz on this latest track. Hanson’s signature R&B/pop sound, combined with his ability to blend soul, dance, funk, salsa, and hip-hop, brings his own unique flair. Known for his eclectic style and international collaborations with Moon Boots, Moods, and Kraak & Smaak, Hanson’s quality contribution elevates ‘Tropical Electrical’ to new heights making it an unmissable warm weather anthem.

Kraak & Smaak presents Keep on Searching - show #73, 13-05-15

Kraak & Smaak (Dutch: [ˌkraːk ɛn ˈsmaːk]) is a musical production trio from the town of Leiden, Netherlands, consisting of Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug. The three began recording in 2003. Their first album, titled Boogie Angst, was released in the UK 2006, and they began performing at music festivals and at clubs in the US and UK. Their songs were played on the radio and were used in television shows. Their second album, released in 2008, was titled Plastic People. They won an EBBA. Their third album, Electric Hustle, was released in 2011.

I remember a whole bunch of early Kraak & Smaak 12"s, Squeeze Me with Ben Westbeech, Funk Ass Rotator and then the iconic Henrik Schwarz remix of No Sun In The Sky that would also massively stick it's head out on the K7 Henrik Schwarz Live! compilation album. A really cool moment in time. 

Later Wim Plug invited LYMA and myself to release two 12" on their label Boogie Angst , namely Games Change and No Time and the collaboration helped solidifying LYMA and my relationship and was a great experience altogether.

Happy to welcome these legendary artists to the series.
