Christian Cambas is back and celebrates his return with an original track on one of his favorite labels.&nbsp; 
Keeping things totally subliminal with a haunting melody and an apocryphal vocal snippet, we are kept locked in via the pulsating bass and commanding synths that seem to have been programmed in some kind of dismal future.&nbsp; 

A remix from label boss T78 was essential to this release, and the original has been completely flipped on its head, with a big surprise halfway through, as only he knows how. Another brother-in-arms from the other side of the pond is up next, and of course we are talking about Durtysoxxx who based his version on the synth progressions and provided the heads-down vibe of the package.&nbsp; 
UK duo Drumsauw seal the deal with a spacious mix, letting their rendition breathe effortlessly while keeping the production crystal clear.

Victor Ruiz lands his Debut EP on Drumcode.

Victor first released on Drumcode last year on their most recent edition of the famous A-Sides Vol.7 compilation with his colossal track ‘Pulso’. Victor has been relentless when it comes to producing absolutely huge sounding tracks, which are heavily suited to the big club room vibe. This May he steps up for his debut EP on Drumcode with ‘Nimbus’.

The title track ‘Nimbus’ marked an important milestone in his life, his arrival to Berlin, his new home. Due to the lack of studio space and set up, he made Nimbus entirely with headphones and laptop. A piercing track with a punctuated kick drum that cuts through the mix, alongside some industrial tones which build an eerie tension. A track that really sits on the darker side of the progressive techno world.

Victor explains that this release is “very much a mix of old and new” representing two stages of his life. ‘Unveil’ was a track he produced back in Sao Paulo, when day dreaming of his move to Europe. A chunky low end combined with big percussion that makes it more of a heady introspective track on the release. It most definitely shows a more experimental side Victor but is welcomed and makes for a thunderous dancefloor track.

Against a Dark Background – the full-length studio album from long-standing British
techno duo, Spektre – will be released in early 2020 on Pleasurekraft’s esteemed
Kraftek imprint.

Following their critically-acclaimed debut album Casting Shadows Without Light in
2010 and their sophomore outing Cyclic Operations in 2013, Against a Dark
Background will be the third studio long-player from partners Paul Maddox and Rich
Wakley, who have been producing together under the Spektre moniker since 2006.

Currently in the top five-selling techno artists worldwide and with over 500,000
streams per month on Spotify, Spektre have taken the electronic music world by
storm over the past few years, with their forward-thinking productions and high-
intensity live performances resonating with legions of loyal techno fans across all
corners of the globe.

Now key ambassadors for British dance music on a global level, Spektre’s chart-
topping productions have received high praise from the likes of Adam Beyer, Carl
Cox, Pleasurekraft and Alan Fitzpatrick and the duo are often hailed as one of the
most exciting acts to emerge onto the UK techno scene over the past decade.

Talking about the forthcoming album, Spektre commented:
It had been over 5 years since the release of "Cyclic Operations" when we first started 
work on the new album in earnest, so we wanted it to be a representation of how our
music has evolved in that intervening period. The writing process itself was a lot
more reductive than the previous two albums. We holed ourselves up for a few
months and hammered out loads and loads of ideas, then filtered and refined the
pool through playing them out and getting feedback from a few trusted pairs of ears,
until "Against a Dark Background" began to crystallize into its final form.

02 - Spektre - Trying to Forget

There's a fine line between madness and obsession. Any person with so much as one single creative bone in their body will relate to this. Those moments when you're so fixated on what you're making, all sense breaks loose.

Such is the case with long-standing Russian artist and SOAP label owner Lie2You. A man who treads that fine line with great care on every release. Including this ice-cold debut on Joris Voorn's Spectrum.

A regular in Joris's sets and Spectrum Radio broadcasts, both 'Madness' and 'Obsession' have been key weapons for Voorn throughout this turbulent year. 'Madness' was a highlight in his Awakenings set while 'Obsession' will feature on Joris's forthcoming Global Underground mix album. And right now, they're both yours.

Both ageless in that stripped-back 808 and 909 style arrangement. Both loaded with springy, molten basslines and dark echoed textures that nod towards Berlin, Detroit and London all at the same time, 'Madness' is slinky and hypnotic in its charm while 'Obsession' takes us over the edge. Tweaked by the bossman Voorn himself, it's a widescreen, driving monster with a powerful late 90s style bass and kick chug and cosmic wisps of acid flying across the spectrum. A joy to mix and even more of a pleasure to hypnotise people with - just like so many other Lie2You tracks have been so far. And that's the truth.
