Supported heavily by BBC’s Mary Anne Hobbs, the VIP version of the Kiss tune is one of the more percussive, intense and Techno-inspired cuts to have come out of the Copenhagen-based studio of Obeah (aka 2000F). With a musical background as a amongst others a percussionist, Obeah lays down a thick layer of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, as well as drawing upon inspirations from early Jungle (hence the bass line) and not forgetting the Techno sounds of the TB-303 acid machine.

The first edition of our 10'' dubplate series brings @e_s_p_beats , a New Zealander hailing from Taupo, NZ. e s p is no stranger to the 140 world, having opened for acts such as Tunnidge, Joe Nice, Sepia, and more, aswell being supported regularly on Sicaria Sound's Rinse FM show.

The A side features "After Dark", a proper deep roller with 90's video game samples, the B side "Smite" takes a different angle, with a melodic synth layered overtop a massive bassline to complete this TMSV-esque vibe, both tracks were produced in 2019 in Vancouver, Canada.
