Written and produced by LOKATT with an ambient edit by artist and producer Harald Björk (Cocoon Recordings/Studio Barnhus/Kranglan Broadcast) that breathes crystal clear air and glittering stars.

LOKATT is the producer-duo by sisters Nina Piroth and Johanna Piroth from Stockholm, Sweden. Beside releasing music and running the label and company Oma Gusti, you can hear them as podcast hosts for the music podcast Man Machine. This is the first time the techno pop duo releases a song like this: slow, guitar and harmony based – with traces back to where they started, in their indie folk-pop duo Piroth. 

”We wanted to make a song for the lonely souls, for those who struggle, fighting to find your way, your path. It's a hymn for a friend in need, for a lost one or for you who lost your light. A hymn for everyone.

Swedish producer-duo LOKATT is back with their fourth EP, LITTLE REBEL. The EP will be released on their own label Oma Gusti in collaboration with Kranglan Broadcast (Harald Björk/Cocoon) in early spring 2024. All tracks produced by Johanna and Nina Piroth, with co-production by Barcelona based producer Dinky. First out, the single ‘Little Rebel’ on February 2. 

LITTLE REBEL is about finding your way in a world where norms and structures about how you should be and behave rule. It’s about breaking barriers and moving boundaries. To be that playing and exploring child, and to be reminded of that little punk in you, the little rebel. 

In 2015 LOKATT released their acclaimed debut EP ”Karg” on their own label Oma Gusti, the single The Hill was picked as ”one of the best dance tracks of the year” by Swedish National Radio P3 (Samir Yousufi). Further, in 2015 LOKATT released single Our Time, co-produced with Swedish artist/producer The Land Below. The debut was followed by Samoa EP 2017, single Me and AI 2019 and EP LA Dream 2020, with remixes by Swedish techno artist/producer Harald Björk. In 2022 LOKATT released the down-tempo winter hymn, In snow and time, with an ambient edit by Harald Björk. 

LOKATT also run the label Oma Gusti with releases by top name artists such as Harald Björk, Studio Barnhus, Nathan Fake, Missincat, Popnoname, The Land Below and Clara Moto. They also host the music podcast Man Machine, where they invite artists and producers to their studio in Stockholm. 

LOKATT is performing as a DJ-duo and is currently working on a live performance as well.

LOKATT – is the brand new project of Nina and Johanna Piroth from Stockholm. 
In 2013, using their very own Oma’s Studio, they started producing techno music with pop influences. The sound of the vocals can be traced to their background in the indie folk pop duo Piroth, which they toured Europe and released several records with. Together with Nina and Johannas passion for melodic techno (that you also can hear them perform as DJ’s) they create techno pop with inspiration from the timid Lokatt (lynx). From Graphic designer Stina Göthlanders visuals (also called the eye of LOKATT) to the lingering harmonies, the nature power of the beats, you can clearly hear the sound of Scandinavia. 

In April LOKATT released their first single Our Time - a collaboration with Malmö-based The Land Below. The 29th of May you will be able to hear the first single produced solely by LOKATT – The Hill, which will be released on Oma Gusti Records together with Harald Björks label Kranglan Broadcast. Followed by Karg EP and several more remixes releasing later this year.

If you like the sound of cheap analog synthesizers from the mid 80s, drum machines and strangely pitched human voices this might be the record for you. A small warning about the quite melodic and poppy arrangement, it is not minimal, nor pure drones. Sorry. Estelle EP has nothing to do with the car Škoda Estelle, even though some instruments used on the songs were produced during the same years. Estelle EP is more or less a result of the new Kranglan Broadcast hardware studio environment. The plan was simple: to get rid of the machines that were not being used and to make the rest communicate with each other. This resulted in some very fine jams where realtime feelings and spontaneous ideas were converted into music. Each track is its own moment in time.

Kranglan Broadcast presents three very unique dreamscapes - stories that are diffuse and hard to place in the real world, drawn in such perfection to make us believe they actually took place. The artists this time are two solo artist from a pair of duos - Anton Kubikov (SCSI-9) and Sam Willis (Walls) both with albums out on Kompakt. Willis is also a part of Allez-Allez known for their rave anthem “Defeatist” and remixes of Fever Ray among others. And then last but not laziest Wesley Matsell that we know from Border Community and Studio Barnhus! It is lovely to work with people we know isn't it?

The Russian shaman Anton Kubikov open his secret window into outer space, the bottom of the Artic Ocean or - are we actually inside the head of an old sailor that long ago sailed the seven seas... Now he silent watches the waves calmly roll under a moonlit night in this melancholia, cinematic vocal dub.

In the next chapter Sam Willis pulls the rug from underneath our feets, are we falling? or are we actually flying?. Infact it feels like we are completely still and it's the world that is twirling, things moving in uncertain yet mechanicly precise directions. We are watching the world from inside the eye of a whirlwind, constantly moving, progressing towards euphoria, with bells of glory and off it fades, out of our mind and leaves us with a warm feeling in our bellies and a smile on our lips.

Wesley Matsell sums it all up, telling us the truth of how the world actually was created - painting a perfect portrait of an ancient dawn progressing in ultra rapid motion. The sun spread its beams over a vast landscape surrounded by mountains and valleys. And when suddenly the journey is over, our master throws a stone on the watery surface above our heads and blurs our vision with the most gentle waves.

New EP LA Dream by Swedish sister duo LOKATT is a gentle summer breeze with Cocoon artist Harald Björk’s shimmering remixes as a delightful flavor and an LA shot video by Emi Löfgren as a glossy visual representation

On the 10th of July Stockholm sister duo LOKATT will release The EP LA Dream, two tracks by LOKATT and remixes by Swedish artist Harald Björk (Cocoon, Studio Barnhus, Kranglan Broadcast). With the EP routined producers, LOKATT’s Johanna and Nina Piroth present a new style of writing and producing. The songs were originally written to pitch for other artists, but they decided to sing and finish the tracks as LOKATT originals instead. The result is a more traditional pop with a fresh new summer vibe that’s sweet and balearic, but the trademark melancholy of the sisters remains. With the fantastic remix made by one of Sweden’s most interesting techno producers Harald Björk the track LA Dream became more danceable and hopeful. The entire EP makes you want to sink into a dream by a pool or on a beach to while reality’s ”keep the distance” mantra lies ghostly between the lines.

Kranglan is a forest in the surrounding where artist Harald Björk grew up and is living today. Kranglan is distinguished part wise by the beavers that suddenly moved in along the lakeshores and started chopping down trees and building huts and part wise by the two giant broadcast masts that every night turn the nature reserve south-east of Stockholm in to a never ending disco by spreading light beams in the sky and over the forest.

When artist Harald Björk was to come up with a name for his record label it was not hard to choose since his greatest source of inspirations had always been and probably always will be the light from the broadcast masts by night.
