I was there, one of the best nights of my life! The tomb is such a great place for Grouper, where every whisper echoes up to 10 seconds due to the architecture of the building. The building's main attraction is a dark, barrel-vaulted room completely covered with frescoes. The 800-square-metre painting VITA ("LIFE") conveys dramatic scenes of human life from conception to death. If I remember correctly there were only 20-30 people allowed inside. The tomb was cold, 12-13 degrees celsius so we wore winter clothes inside. Inside it was completely dark barring the headlight that Grouper wore. She sat on the stone floor inone of the corners hunched over the instruments as some type of cassette loop started playing… Even though its now almost 12 years ago I still remember that night in good detail and I can only say thank you to kranky for releasing this. If there is any chance to get a hold of a recording of the whole concert I would love to hear it.

I will never get over the beauty of this song

She performed live at the "Central Presbyterian Church" in Austin (May 15th, 2022), not long after someone significant to me passed away. Attempting to be 1st in line, I got there around 4pm (hoping to hear a potential sound check; doors @7)––funnily, I was queued on the wrong side of the building. Upon walking around, I ended up 2nd. Pleasant weather, nice conversation, and downtown perpetually moving as we waited. Eventually, we were escorted and filed evenly into the church pews, the stained glass glowing as the sun stayed for the opener. Alex Zhang Hungtai was astounding––the natural lighting made his performance feel all the more vibrant. There was strong architectural influence via what I felt was optimal soundscaping and the psychology of a "sacred past" (along various other connotations; it was my 1st time in a church since the funeral service). Between sets, the audience murmured–I recall the sunset's hue wilting away and the lights fading to black when Grouper came out.

I have been going through a lot of negative thoughts recently every week, every month and every year and my brother never stops bullying me when I mind my own business. I stay out of trouble and he just comes right in and ruins it for me.

"a year ago, today" is a double-single release from rosewither exploring deep lush soundscapes in the drone music genre.

This project was written during a time in my life when I thought I was going to be able to define the word home and family within Texas. At the time I pictured spending out the a large part of the rest of my days within the community I had within Austin and elsewhere within Texas. Then, one morning, I woke up to the news being spread by a local Dallas paper that the Texas DPS was going to start overturning gender markers on IDs.

I already knew with living there that the government hated us transsexuals but had some blind hope that they would, largely, leave us alone. Upon hearing this news, it was a sign for the times to come. I fortunately noticed the signs and got my partner and I out of there. We made that long drive from Austin, Texas, to Minneapolis, Minnesota in one go and is where all of the source material for "who are you to decide the foundation of which you build your statues upon" comes from. I had to leave so many people whom I still care for deeply there. Friends of mine from there have since fleed to other sanctuary states or cities in hopes they can be transsexual.

These two songs are dedicated entirely to what could have been and was. What my life could have been if the new-age nazis in Texas didn't declare war on its queer folks. If I had decided to stay within the south and risk everything. Some days, I think that wouldn't be so bad.
