Having impressed us over the past nearly three years with their excellent first releases and their explosive concerts, it is now time to get our hands on the first complete work of A Victim Of Society. And its name is ''Distractions''.

Vagelis Makris and Fotis Ntouskas, in other words the two members of the band, manage to fit in their music the best moments of the bands that made us love rock n 'roll and at the same time to create a completely personal sound. Dark, dirty, neurotic, yet addictive, ''Distractions'' steps on the best music of the past but still sounds as fresh and contemporary, as few of its genre. Haunting guitars and loops that produce waves of rhythmic noise accompany the spunky vocals to create the perfect soundtrack for a nightmarish post-urban landscape. Recorded at Sonic Playground Studios by Nikos Triantafyllou and mastered by Jamal Ruhe at West West Side Music Studio in New York, ''Distractions'' has all the makings to be a landmark album of the greek alternative scene.

Αφού μας εντυπωσίασαν τα τελευταία τρία σχεδόν χρόνια με τις εξαιρετικές πρώτες τους κυκλοφορίες και τις εκρηκτικές  συναυλίες που τις συνόδευσαν, έφτασε επιτέλους η στιγμή να έχουμε στα χέρια μας την πρώτη ολοκληρωμένη δουλειά των A Victim Of Society. Και το όνομα αυτής, ''Distractions''.

 Ο Βαγγέλης Μακρής και ο Φώτης Ντούσκας, τα δύο μέλη δηλαδή της μπάντας, καταφέρνουν να χωρέσουν στην μουσική τους τις καλύτερες στιγμές από τα συγκροτήματα που μας έκαναν να αγαπήσουμε το rock ‘n' roll, δημιουργώντας τελικά έναν τελείως προσωπικό ήχο.  Σκοτεινό, βρώμικο, νευρωτικό και συνάμα εθιστικό, το ''Distractions''  ενώ πατάει πάνω στις καλύτερες στιγμές της μουσικής του παρελθόντος, ακούγεται και είναι τόσο φρέσκο και σημερινό, όσο λίγα πράγματα.  Κιθάρες που σε στοιχειώνουν αμέσως, λούπες που παράγουν κύματα ρυθμικού θορύβου και συνοδεύουν τα ψυχωμένα φωνητικά, δημιουργούν το ιδανικό soundtrack για ένα εφιαλτικό μετα-αστικό τοπίο. I would like to take this opportunity to greet you warmly and have great news for you!
 
I've wanted to release my new album for a long time, but numerous other projects have taken a lot of my time. Now the “new album” project is in the final phase. And what should I say? Because of my hard work, the bubbling wealth of strange sound ideas, and the incredible help and support of my dearest friends and family, the “new album” project has become a three-part project.
 
Album "The Vault" - release date on May 5th, 2024, 22 x songs
 
Album "The Golden" - release date approximately June 5th, 2024, 22 x songs
 
Album "The Funky Wheelbarrow" - release date approximately August 4th, 2024, 10 x songs (pure rare groove, funky breaks and live performance funk)
 
I would especially like to thank my family, the chaotic people on the turntables and my best buddy and DJ friend Daniel aka Sam Spade for your help, support, trust and love.
 
I have taken another leap in development, absorbed constructive criticism and created a musical milestone for you with my heart and love for breaking culture. Even if the German break DJ scene doesn't really stick together, at least it's the individual contributions that keep the community alive. Unfortunately, so many break DJs still adorn themselves with other people's feathers, because "Digging in the Crates", if anything, is unfortunately not everything.
 
The next three albums are musically filled with real rockets, you have to have that much self-confidence, and many songs have already been tested in international battles. The cross-genre variety of sounds and the detailed wealth of ideas in every single song should bring you a lot of fun breaking and listening. Just have fun with it!

LSD - Alien Mustangs

Formed in January 2009, Girls Names quickly garnered recognition outside of the confines of their hometown of Belfast with the release of their eponymous debut EP in 2010 through New York's Captured Tracks. A mini-album through London imprint Tough Love soon followed, setting the foundations for their critically acclaimed debut LP "Dead To Me," released in April 2011, again by Tough Love in Europe and West Coast label Slumberland Records in the US. October 2011 brought the excellent "Black Saturday" single, a frisky slice of dark, driving pop. Earlier this year the band released "A Troubled See" as one side of a split 7" with Weird Dreams, also on Slumberland/Tough Love. "A Troubled See" startled with it's stark precision, pointing to a new direction.

Girls Names are now hinting at making their boldest and most exciting record to date. New single "The New Life" clocks in at over 7 minutes and takes you on a journey that mirrors the feelings of a band living and working in economy stricken Northern Ireland - the perfect soundtrack of the bleakness to where they exist. The B-side is a mesmerizing, dubbed-out JD Twitch Optimo remix of the single.

This year the band expanded to a four-piece and has spent the last six months in virtual seclusion honing and developing a more progressive and expansive sound, feeding on the darker sides of Echo and The Bunnymen, Spacemen 3, The Birthday Party and David Bowie's "Low" before heading off on a triumphant Spring/Summer European tour culminating on their biggest and most successful shows to date at the prestigious Primavera sound festival in Barcelona.

A new full length is currently being finished off but for now it seems Girls Names are intent on making a lasting impression with "The New Life." It certainly feels as though the band is ready to enter a new phase in their existence and the way they've grown and honed their sound shows that they're not afraid to take risks.
