DOMINION

Focus is a classic techno tune with a modern touch: after the quite inoffensive intro the rhythmic texture gets more and more complex until our beloved TR909 seizes absolute power over the intricate weave of abstract sounds.

FOCUS

Intimate is a more deep, dub tune, a hypnotic trip into darker realms. Beats and noises, like secret inhabitants of a dangerous world, move around a breath-like sound and paint a post-industrial atmosphere. This track has a very linear evolution that makes it perfect for any dance-floor, from minimal to techno.

INTIMATE

The classic drum-machine beat opening Point Z coupled with the rolling bass is joined soon by the unique hi-hat sound marking the upbeat. The main theme is an abstract melody modified in various ways through the use of strange delays, reverbs and spectral processing. After the short drop a brazilian groove is superimposed giving more drive and emphasizing the contrast with the other elements.

POINT Z

Jitter is a tribal repetitive trip that arises from a genetically modified marimba (courtesy of our beloved 8-bit Mirage). Reversed hi-hats, hypnotizing delays, bit-reduced accents infect the main synth line making it sick: disorientation guaranteed!

JITTER

The imploded beats of Theia hit the dance-floor like a meteor shower; accents in reverse weave the rhythm supported by background reverberations. A grooving TR-909 complete all. 

THEIA

Magnetic Fields is a train rolling through dark, post-industrial landscapes. It’s built around a drastically EQed 909 tom, a nervous echoed clap and a cross-rhythmic, 3 against 4 hypnotic bass line which evolves in a bell-like sound towards the pause. The atmosphere is saturated with sound vapors and the temperature is dangerously high: play at your own risk!

MAGNETIC FIELDS

Poles is marked by a percussive sound which despite its inharmonic character yet keeps a trace of tuning making it similar to a voiced percussion. This main sound is arranged to form a sort of pseudo-melody determined by the different intensity, lenght and color of the reverb tail. The 909delivers both the drum line and the bass line, realized using the tom section. The background is populated by friendly, ceaselessly mutating sonic organisms.

POLES

We are into Techno since the early 90s and grew up listening to the music of some great artists like Jeff Mills etc. We decided to set up our own label because we felt the need to express some musical ideas we were developing over the last years. Being really passionate about music we are interested in its technological aspects and we like to integrate in our creation the most recent evolutions: an extended palette of tools may offer more possibilities and we like to experiment with all tools we can find.

This led us to a quite original workflow, were old techniques and gear meet more modern devices, were instruments are used in a non-conventional manner or they are modified or even self-built. Of course we like computers but we still think we can be more creative, obtain better results and have more fun using real hardware instruments, mixing through a real console and printing to tape.

Music is made of sound, it is its primal and essential element: that’s why we focus on the sound, designing every single patch we use and experimenting on till we feel pleased with the result. We have a composite background which evolved over the years but among our disparate influences Detroit Techno plays a seminal role: we feel continously inspired by those masterpieces but we don’t misunderstand our roots with our vision.

We go our own way in music, we pay no attention to trends or cutting-edge beats, we just want to deliver solid, soulful music.
