The first song promoted from the #DRIPDUPDRAPEDAHT MIXTAPE entitled the YEA YEA (Remix) A bouncy Kids Hip-Hop track for all ages to party too.  The students involved really displayed their personalities they showed me all year and showed no fear performing this song in front of their peers while recording.  All three students are very gifted and natural songwriters and recording artists.  One of the most fun songs I've created with kids.  It's also very addictive once you listen you won't be able to stop.  #KRE8YEP

This song was performed by native Houstonian A-Money who begged me to do a song once she saw that I had recording equipment.  She showed me a song she wrote and we decided to try those lyrics to the GOIN' BAD instrumental due to the tempo she wrote the song.  By adjusting her flow the song that she wrote was finally recorded and she was able to fulfill one of her dreams....one of the best moments in during my time of doing Kids HipHop in the schools.

This song started due to me seeing this 6th grader that carried a "Rhyme Book" that was filled with poetry.  Her English teacher also told me how good of a writer she was once she found out I was into teaching kids how to write and record.  When I finally got a chance to talk to this student the first thing I asked was what did she want to do with her talent?  Her response "I want to do music!"  The next question was if you were able to start recording tomorrow, would you do it? Her response "I'm ready today!"  She showed me a poem she wrote that she wanted to record as a song and we turned that into #GRLPOWER with the help of the "POWER" instrumental by Kanye....and it was pure magic....T-Baby from Houston, TX is definitely a superstar in the Creative Arts world #KRE8YEP

I brought my recording equipment into class one day for a class project with their vocabulary.  I had two students who kept coming back during their lunch and their enrichment periods for a week straight begging me to record a song.  They even made me record them during one of my conference periods when I am supposed to do planning and meeting with other teachers.  Their passion and drive really stood out and their response from hearing each other for the first time rapping was priceless.  Jamaris and Lil C are definitely "KANGS" in their own right...and this track will forever remind them of that.  I have high hopes for these young men as they pursue their dreams with music! #KRE8YEP

During a permanent sub position in a 7th Grade History Class they were learning about the different levels of government.  They had to learn vocabulary and concepts.  I wrote this song for them to understand the concept of federalism in the United States.  The boys took over due to the girls shining so much early on, but they definitely enjoyed learning about government and the federal system through HipHop. #KRE8YEP

My purpose is working with the youth and my passion is music.  My youth organization Kre8 Youth Empowerment Project allowed me to merge those two worlds together to create magic.  Our music program allows students to learn how to write, record, perform and even learn how to use the equipment so they can do it on their own.  Since 2011, we have recorded and distributed over 200 songs through our classroom presentations, after-school programming, summer camps, and artist development.
