Haloikan: My tidiest radio style mix yet i think. Had much fun making this. 

KK: Favorite part of the set? Timecode?
Haloikan: When the kecak dance track blends with techno track before. It was a happy accident. Around 27:30. Or the very last track. The blend is so sad and gritty.

Re.: This mixtape is basically a compilation of the most iconic and nostalgic Jazz/Pop/RnB/Rap songs in history with some House,Deep-house and Tech-House grooves underneath. House was actually the reason why i started my journey in Electronic music, thats why house will always have a special place in my heart.

KK: Favorite part of the set? Timecode?
Re.: Thats nearly impossible for me to choose since 90% of the mixtape consists of my all time favorite songs/tracks.

KK: Food or drink that describe this set the most?
Re.: Nasi padang?
- The food has a very diverse condiment.
- Arguably one of the most iconic food from indo(?)
- It def always lifts up my mood and my childhood memories.

This set is a fusion of few different styles that i love listening to lately: inspired mainly by tribal, psy and hypnotic sounds, infused with groovy and driving rhythms. I had a lot of fun constructing this set and experimenting with the sounds. 

KK: Favorite part of the set? Timecode?
Around 22:50, love the sound of the two tracks blending together. Also around 38:00, the remix is otherworldly.

G: This is quite amusing, considering this set wasn’t planned at all. I had a misunderstanding with Bimo and thought the deadline was on the 9th.

While I was in my studio with Kim and Axxxe to record something for our band, I suddenly realized I needed to send Bimo my set as soon as possible. So, I quickly turned on my modular and asked Kim and Axxxe to improvise with me.

Honestly, I intended to do more beat-oriented stuff, but I didn’t have time to repatch my modular, hahahaha.

G: I would say around 11ish minute, since that is the first time the 3 of us played together

S: In this set, I highlighted the Brazilian baile and guaracha genres from Latin America because I like every element in each track. The unique beats, the flirty grooves, the super dirty and sweary rapping vocals of the brazilian MCs, the iconic latin percussion and not forgetting the rave energy. I can't stop swaying every time I play this set. Pure constant dance.

1: Tell us more about this set, or maybe a comment about this set?

TA: I was quite surprised by myself, I didn’t intend it to be 2-hour set. By the second part, it just flowed like water, I felt confident and said fuck it, lets go. Just going on and holding on to a feeling. The last hour was just pure improvisation. During the peek time I just didn’t want it to end. So I just went on. I have played long time, I guess I missed that kinda spontaneity. 



2: Favorite part of the set? Timecode? 
TA: Mmm… I always love the breakdowns of certain tracks, and sometimes I overlay it with random things, a nice surprise I guess.

Maybe 33.50, its hard to point out a specific part, I’m quite surprised by the whole set actually. Also 59.12 until the end. The first and last track are also nice. there are some lovely curveballs all over the mix.



3: Food or drink that describe this set the most?
TA: This is gonna be hard haha… Maccalan mixed with Amer Gold hahha… idk really, I really don’t know. They are both good but the opposite sides of the spectrum. Combining good things together and just standing there on the border of chaos and order sippin this crazy cocktail.

Wait wait… I just remembered I drank Berliner dunkel and mixed it some with Portugal rose wine at some point during the mix. It’s kinda crazy but kinda translated into the mix, a mix of dark and light, a little techno a little house and some bass & breaks and also some nice icing ambient stuff on top of the cake. I guess it’s just an accumulation of stuff I listen to, just a megamix of everything.

Foodwise, maybe ketoprak… I miss proper kacang tanah.

G: This set is definitely a big mashup of different genres I love to mix and mess with. The first half is a groovy house vibe that melts into some electronic based dance, and dives into heavy drum and bass within the second half. This was definitely one of my more challenging sets to do, but it was so fun to experiment with how different genres can blend together and what the final product sounds like. It’s my first recorded set and I’m super happy to share it with you all!!
