In the remix world, you have the original and then the remix. Rarely is the original creator of the work so moved they decide to answer that remix. In Spin Cycle, this happens to two previously siloed genres -- to astonishing results. A genre-defying, innovative three-stage project rooted in authenticity: 1st Stage: Four of the hottest Canadian composers wrote four distinct works for the Afiara Quartet; 2nd Stage: Skratch Bastid brought his world-renowned scratch styling to transform the works into standalone remixes; 3rd Stage: the composers answered the remix by bringing the Afiara back into a full conversation and meeting of minds.
