Sneaker has been on a mission to reveal the origins of electronic music for more than twenty years now. Whether as a producer or DJ – Sneaker is doing it properly but always after careful consideration. He loves music which imparts atmosphere and attitude towards life, even in a parodying way that doesn’t take itself too serious. Early on, he fell in love with Detroit and Chicago but furthermore there are the obscure Italo, new wave and minimal synth gems that make his sets and Dunkeltier edits special and provide his productions with that edgy Sneaker flavor.

If he doesn’t ponder on the history of dance music, the graduate of Fine Arts shuttles extensively between his part-time-hometowns Berlin and Dresden, where he operates the TailOut mastering studios with long-time collaborator Jacob Korn. He remixed classic EBM and minimal synth bands such as Twilight Ritual, Esplendor Geométrico, Absolute Body Control, S.M. Nurse, De Fabriek and Click Click on his contributions on Frigio, based in Madrid, Bahnsteig 23 and the Macadam Mambo Edits label from Lyon.

In regards to this particular mix: 
This is the other view, the cold hand of ragged whities, this is the answer to a question not asked, these dots were never connected in 33 years (the earliest pick dating back to the UK in 1990).
Records from Germany, Italy, Finland, Holland, Switzerland, Austria - they all contribute to this woven fabric.
A bunch of my own joints sneaked in, plus a track (indeed done in a tracker in the early 2000s) by my best buddy Jacob Korn (we run tailout.de).

We're delighted to share with you Synthtati's set recorded during the transience curated night at Whole Festival last year. During these three hours, Synthtati takes us on an incredible journey through moments of dubby, glitchy percussions into surreal atmospheres and more playful moments all emerging from a bi-directional drone setting a pschedellic mood for the rest of the night. 

Synthtati has the following to say about their set : 
This soundscape was manifested for the ambient stage opening, invoking memories of an ecstatic atmosphere in the woods under the stars, flamboyant queer people celebrating life on a hot July night.
I had 3 hours to envision a spectrum of sonic nuances: refined elegance of distorted rhythms, cinematic nostalgia, mysterious organics, musique concrète, spoken word, ASMR whispers, and intricate textures.
Initiating with the ethereal resonance of the Shepard's tone as a countdown point, this mix collages 3 musical channels complimenting one anoher simultaneously and merging into one sonic tapestry resonating with me deeply.

transience #55 with Synthtati live at Whole Festival

Summer is here and so is madness. Many many things to do, some gigs to play, some people to host, cycles to ride, weather outside. No, I haven't forgotten about the podcast series I have started and yes I do have couple of mixes lined up. One of those has seen quite a few takes and needle jumps, will give go a head again soon.

For now I wanted to post something from the past, made in 2011 for my good Lithuanian friend Justinas and his team for their project called Secretthirteen http://secretthirteen.org . Back then he was just starting of, but because of his passion and devotion to the world of music and art, his web journal has grew significantly and has hosted almost two hundred mixes from  artists of different caliber and features many articles to discover. What always fascinated me about Secretthirteen is their the non-commercial DIY approach and also the way podcasts are described, both of which I find very personal and direct.
