TEN RELEASES IN to the rapidly growing pile of inHabit releases (not
counting instalments in our "Momentum" or “Texture” series) and yet, as I type this from behind my gigantic mahogany desk here at inHabit HQ all I can think of is that I hope the weather is nicer wherever you all are than
it is here. Fortunately our next release however comes in the form of
two absolute hurters from up-and-coming bass scientist Nuskope who,
hailing from Greece as he does, at the very least is (probably) not
getting absolutely rained out of it like we are here. Does that mean
he’s written us two twinkly sunshiny starry-eyed rooftop cocktail bar
party tunes though? Does it fuck, these are crunchy grinding weapons
for dark basements with more fuck-you attitude than a squat punk band
playing on the back of a truck in the middle of a riot on Syntagma
Square.

“Vigor” is, as the name would lead you to expect, a raucous slice of
pure confrontational in-your-face energy, with a choppy funk break
getting cut and switched to bits and struggling to contain a titanic
slab of bass, as squalls of feedback fade into darkness.

“Trail Blazer” is a sharp, zippy stepper that arrives in a flurry of soaring
strings, bleeps and classic samples, and wastes absolutely time
dropping into a tearing funk workout with more deft touches and clever
trickery than an EP’s worth of tunes from plenty of bigger names than
Nuskope, so keep a  very close eye on this guy from now on. Both tunes
have been tweaked and polished by Height Mastering too so you know these are going to slap on whatever system you play them.

Big up everyone who’s supported the label so far on this journey with
us, ten releases and counting is nothing to be sniffed at and we still
feel we’re barely getting underway, so here’s hoping you stick around
for whatever the next arbitrary numerical milestone we feel
sufficiently strong enough about to warrant mentioning it in a
hype-sheet. Finally, maximum respect to Nuskope for being part of our
story now. One love!

Formation Records is excited to be showcasing some fire from Brazil with Nasz bringing you fresh new vibes with his ‘Back Again E.P.’  

To start off this epic E.P., the title tracks ‘Back Again’ is an absolute scorcher, with brisk drums & dread-esque bass tones that wind & filter throughout the arrangement, culminating in an unequivocally amped-up affair guaranteed to get listeners moving.

‘Waiting for You’ is a sinister number from start to finish. The subtle flutes and enticing vocals are a perfect match to the rolling basslines. These flavours raise an otherwise menacing dark steppa into an exquisite blend of hypnotic drum and bass.

‘Jump’ is another surefire success, demonstrating nostalgic sensibilities and paying homage to the jungle of yesteryear while infusing it with a newfound energy that is sure to be stuck in your head. 

The roller that is deeply visceral named ‘More’ begins with an atmospheric intro layered with smooth vocals leading you to more rolling and laid-back track packed with soulful, pads and growling bass rips.

The final track called ‘Jah Love’ beings with skanky guitar plucks that is a perfect match to the the melodic piano delays and hint of saxophone that follows, leading to a catchy bassline that will definitely have the dancefloor groovin’.
