On the 11th April 2015 we take over one of Birminghams best underground venues, the oobleck within the Alfie Birds complex to launch CASSETTE.

A new night 100% dedicated to the resurgance of the Underground House & Garage sound, vibe and atmosphere of the 90's and beyond.

As expected, the line up is second to none and has brought together some of the most influential pioneers of the scene to come and join us for our 1st event.

Matt Jam Lamont (solo music)

A pioneer, respected DJ, an accomplished producer/remixer, label / A&R manager and radio presenter, Matt 'Jam' Lamont has been an intrinsic part of the UK Dance scene from its very inception.

Hooking up with fellow DJ Karl 'Tuff Enuff' Brown, and together in 1993 they formed the now legendary production/remixing team, Tuff Jam. The duo became the leading figureheads of the UK dance scene during the mid to late 90's, turning out a slew of classic anthems.

As an unceasing champion of the British music scene, and indeed of great garage music irrespective of origin, it's no misnomer to class Matt 'Jam' Lamont amongst dance music's real pioneers.

Ramsey & Fen (bug records)

For the past eighteen years, Ramsey & Fen have been household names on the UK garage scene. The DJ'ing / production duo were amongst the original pioneers of the movement, having been instrumental figures within UK garage pirate radio from its very inception, whilst their studio efforts have resulted in some treasured scene classics that helped shape the garage sound that we hear today.

Ramsey & Fen have never stopped championing the scene they helped create, and their love for the music has endured through the many musical twists and turns that UK garage has taken. “Giving everyone a boost, helping them to get where they are and seeing how everyone’s progressed has been a buzz” maintains Ramsey, whilst Fen adds “We’ve always said we just wanted to take UK garage and get it out there for others to hear it, and that’s still what we’re about.” The time feels right for a Ramsey & Fen renaissance, as they remind us that originality, energy and dedication to the music never goes out of style.

Booker T (liquid deep)

Booker T was heavily involved in the formation of the UK Garage scene, playing with the likes of Karl Tuff Enuff Brown, Matt Jam Lamont, EZ and Grant Nelson.

Booker T’s notority for his talent as both a Producer and DJ means there is a continuous demand for his House and production sets.

To date his remix credits include Lemar, Dwele, Faith Evans, Soul to Soul, Brand New Heavies, Quincy Jones, Sounds Of Blackness, Moloko, Byron Stingly, Jodi atley, Robert Owens, D-Influence, Robin S, Mood II Swing, Elephant Man, Jocylene Brown, Craig David, Marvin Gaye, Kirk Franklin, Mica Paris, Usher, CeCe Peniston, Nate James, Michael Watford, Roy Ayres and All Saints – triple platinum artists. He won ‘Remix Of The Year’ at the Underground Garage Awards, and was Runner-Up to Fat Boy Slim at the DJ Mag Music Awards.
