If your ‘Politics Of Dancing 3’ anticipation levels aren’t scraping the sky already, well this will surely put them there… In a first-time production link-up, Paul van Dyk has collaborated with trance pharaohs Aly & Fila - reteaming in the process with vocal doyen/regular muse Sue McLaren for the magnificent, astounding ‘Guardian’.

Together for the first time, three producers, long celebrated for wowing the clubbing lands with their height-of-the-night productions… Club combustion can be but bare minutes away, right!!? 

Well, yes and no… Over the late December/early January weeks, the Original Mix roared across floors, claiming the #2 spot on Beatport’s trance chart in the process. With the trio’s new Sunrise & Sunset mixes however, Paul, Aly & Fadi drop some expectation-subverting versions into ‘Guardian’s equation. Unexpected, different  - surprising even, their more recumbent tones, dovetailed to Sue’s sweetly sung vocals & bittersweet lyrics, mass to take music lovers to places they may never wish to return from!

For his mix, Goodgreef’s Jordan Suckley goes pole-to-pole delivering a rework that seismically blasts ‘Guardian’ through to the heart of 6am. Tough, on an almost cellular level, Suckley’s thunderous remap will thoroughly test the mettle of your club’s speakers! 

Last but by no means least, Pedro Del Mar & R.I.B take the track on a chilled ride to the lounge side. Linking the circle back to the Sunrise & Sunset Mixes, the pair deliver a richly produced, brilliantly structured ‘ride-home’ revision.

On remix side of things we have Dennis Pedersen from Denmark with whom most trance fans should be already familiar with, a guy who manages to create all sort of styles but always with one goal on his mind, and that is quality driven productions. It's no different with the remix of Frail Devotion which has an even more powerful start with the booming bass and driving bassline. The breakdown opens up with a bright piano melody that soon introduces dreamy pluck lines, packed in one big uplifting dropdown that doesn't stop until the very end.

Afternova returns to Abora Skies with a new masterpiece. For this release, he teamed up with the very talented American violinist Amy Lee. Here is "Loneliness"!

The original mix is a short symphonic piece. Starting off with a soft piano and a few notes that seem suspended in the air, Afternova welcomes us in a very intimate and mellow ambience. When Amy Lee and her delightful violin enter the scene, accompanied by a strings orchestra, we are totally subdued by the beauty of the harmonies, alternating between melancholy and joy.

The orchestral trance mix begins with a powerful intro, giving us the premises of a catchy and driving melody. The breakdown takes the main violin and orchestral theme from the original mix, followed by trance plucks that lead us into an epic climax, filling our mood with joy and positive feelings.

The trance mix has the same intro and climax found in the orchestral trance mix, but with a totally different breakdown: a piano melody supported by bright and lush pads in place of the violin and orchestra.

The Night Sky remix concludes the release, and is a very different version of the song. While keeping the central breakdown with Amy Lee's violin and the orchestra, Night Sky revisits the main theme and turns it into an awesome uplifting trance version, featuring epic string synths, a stirring bass, and a nice piano.

Afternova, whether under his main artist name or his alias Night Sky, has always been a synonym for extremely melodic and high quality musical moments, and he proves it once more with "Loneliness". In this duo with Amy Lee, the two artists seamlessly blend the classical with electronic music genres, and that is pure bliss to our ears!
