after a long time i am giving you my most personal project

i first created the sound in 2018 and it was later used in the track eternal lights in 2021 (probably still my favorite track i ever made)
i called the sound angelwave back then trying to create a new subgenre.

in the last couple years i tried all kinds of different things, changed my alias many times and tried new sounds and going through multiple rebrands. tried to build with others but it always seemed to go nowhere. while trying to give it my all in those ventures i totally forgot about this thing i started all the way back in 2018 that i planned to really push in 2021/2022.

while i was on a trip in japan in 2024 it popped back into my mind as i was walking through empty streets early morning in tokyo. a couple days before i was staying at an onsen and created a melody that gave me this weird feeling i lost for long. it was what i originally wanted to be my signature sound. the melody i created was for the track glint from this album. as i was walking through the streets it all came back to me and i planned to get back at it. sadly i got side tracked with other projects again. at the time i was still going as healer and maybe it was better that i did not do this under healer....it would have not been right.

i was in a very unhappy place in my life, i felt stuck, i was self destructive, i was surrounded by a lot of negative stuff.
i would go online and see artists that started out at the same time as me living off of music. i looked back at my last 2 years. even though i never made as much music in my life as i did in that period up to this point i had no output. i felt regret and anger at myself.

i decided to go back to who i truly was

so i changed my name back to kristall at the end of 2024. i would upload classic 2019-2021 era stuff and drop a song every other week.

i was making music everyday from the time i woke up till late in the morning when the sun rose again. during this time i was isolating myself from everything, completely detached, staying inside all day making music. i had this feeling again i had when i first started out and making music was all i would do and think about.

some time in summer i opened an old project last edited in 2020
the evening sun was shining through the dirty window in front of my desk as i was listening to the track. it was one of those angelwave tracks from all the way back with its signature sound. i got this feeling of bliss again. i realised that it was finaly time to chase this sound.
my true self

i originaly planned it to be a 5 track ep, then a 7 track album with 2 bonus tracks (ether & crystal rain) for the people that will buy the lp, then a 9 track album and now its a 12 track album.

when i was finalizing everything i went through all the projects that got created in the process of making this album.

recluse, 2002 and shadow world werent planned to make it on here at first but as i listened to them i felt as htey had to be part of this album. i planned to not put out ether and crystal rain instead but i already teasered those so now were are here with 12 tracks

the album is inspired by my life
the desire to exit and the desire to exist
a constant battle
regrets, reflection, loss, defeat, solitude
a life drenched in melancholy
grey skies
white plains
feeling bliss as the cold snow hits my face
like winter my soul is cold
my favorite season
this project is for those days when the grey skies cover the lands in their frozen tears

made a mix with almost 2 hours of my music from all the way back in 2017 when i started out to now
with fan favorites, unreleased and no longer available tracks

i originaly planned to make a 1 hour long mix but going through my projects i kept wanting to add more so we ended up with 2 hours. honestly i have so much music laying around i could have made the mix even longer but i dont want to spoil all my work and i still need material for when we reach 1000 ;)
cant believe that i am doing music since 9 years already and while putting this mix together i realised how much music i have actually made so far..... (there are over 9000 project-files accross all my devices and folders). music really has become my lifes work and i am truly grateful for everyone that listens to my music and follows along my journey :)
