Original music for the exhibition, Loss of Identity at the Lillian Bradshaw Gallery, located on the 4th floor of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library (1515 Young Street, Dallas, TX, 75201). This new musical composition and live improvisation performance by Kristen Williams. 
The playlist explores identity through inspiration from a diverse range of influences, including Western classical tradition, Yoruba people and culture of Trinidad, and pre-colonial Philippine music. This collaboration with multimedia artist Heather Levy is the impetus for her deep exploration of personal identity through sound.

This initial melody is from an earlier version composed in 2018. When multimedia artist Heather Levy shared her painting, "The Universe Conspires in my Favor" I knew I needed to include this piece.

I first started playing this song in 2022. I rerecorded it after exploring and researching for the Identity project. The voice at the end is that of my grandfather, recorded in the early 1970s singing (translated) "The Caratal drums sound like bells."
