Always Coming Home Is an album concerned with potential. Every beginning contains within it any number of possible paths and destinations. Every moment is a potential for a new beginning. And so Jesse LeGallais who had moved from Montreal with his wife and two young kids after the ending of his Montreal project CTZNSHP,  was musically adrift. Writing and recording nosey or electronic music in his basement after the kids were asleep and releasing them into the void. He reached out to  Palmer Jamieson, who was also going through some significant life upheavals, having recently put his life and studio build on pause due to an injury. What began as a small email asking if Palmer had time to mix a couple tracks turned into a year and a half long journey where an album was written, recorded, broken down and re-recorded from the ground up. Thus Storm Recorder was born. For over a year  Jesse and Palmer spent their days in Terence Bay working. No time limits, no specific destinations, money running out, just determination to make something beautiful.. With their Egos left at the door, a musical partnership emerged that was complementary, supportive and driven. Embracing the kind of music they wanted to make as opposed to what might be “of the moment”  the two emerged in the fall of 2024 with an album “Always Coming Home”  and a song featured in a surprise Netflix hit movie. Always Coming Home wears its influences on its sleeves but ends up being its own unique sonic and lyrical world. A Dynamic, emotional, fun and lively record bursting with energy, restless experimenting, a commitment to emotional resonance of the song over the theoretical idea of it. Always Coming Home traverses varied musical landscapes always ending up sounding like Storm Recorder. It is the sound of the shoot leaving the seed holding with it so much potential and promise of beautiful things to come.
