10 years have passed since I launched my label Ars Obscura Electronica to release music on vinyl, since then the project has been stopped.
Since it was a more listening-oriented album, sales were really poor within the techno public, which caused the label to collapse.
Now, for the anniversary, I've decided to do a double rework of the original tracks, on the one hand keeping the depth and darkness but with more punch and a more direct rhythm, and on the other hand pretending to be more like DJ tools: pure looped power.

Social expectations? Let’s focus on resisting the social influence. According to the “Reactance Theory”, people experience an unpleasant state of arousal when they believe their freedoms are threatened, and people often act to reduce this unpleasant arousal by reasserting their prerogatives (Brehm, 1956). Which means, the moment you feel your freedom is being taken away, it becomes more precious. Meanwhile, people all attach themselves to this certain situation and create an abstract distinctive reality to maintain the freedom. From my standpoint, social expectations are how we observe, evaluate and process the surroundings and cultures.

Ecrin grew up in Istanbul before she moved to Germany.  In Istanbul where she grew up she describes it as "the city you can easily practice the intersection of western and Islamic civilizations". "Hence, I have adopted the culture despite the fact I have mostly contradicted the mainstream.  A strange coherence in between inconsistencies. Cherry on top, this enriched every bit of my interests and particularly my taste in music. Hope you enjoy the selection!"
