Maschine Brennt (@thenander) is a project by Joacim Thenander, an experienced DJ and producer who started in the early '80s being part of various music groups before focusing on techno and house music. Maschine Brennt was born as a side project in 1991 and made only a few public performances until his comeback in 2014, when he returned with releases on Plonk to later join Encrypted Records. His musical style is a blend of early 1980s electro and the distinct German Düsseldorf sound. Enjoy it!

Decomposition is a mix series by Dead Channel. Fig. 18 comes from M PARENT, and is a live modular set from a practice session prepping for Detour's Hot Mass in January 2023. The Philadelphia based producer latest releases have been on Acid Camp and Sons of Traders. In his own words "Over the course of the last two years I have been challenging myself to build a modular system that allows me to create basslines, atonal melodies, and patterns on the fly...where the machines play me just as much as I play them." Tune in for a taste of this raw, boomed out madness full of dirty acid, ominous tones, and hard hitting rhythms.

A surefire provider in Amsterdam’s well-furnished techno community, Hitam has been making a name for himself with some choice platters for the likes of SYXT, Hayes and Room Trax over the last couple of years. Championing a sound as ebulliently driving as it invites us to dip our toes into further hazy sonic grounds, the Dutch producer swings the pendulum betwixt racing 909-fuelled horsepower and more subdued, fearsome climates. As ever clinical in his approach and deadly in his execution, Hitam has us tripping out to a hefty-handed two hours of relentless tech rage and hypnotic sound design laced into one smouldering hodgepodge of whelming, non-stop gusty sonics. Not for the faint-hearted.

The producer has prepared an hour of wavy electro, house and industrial directly from his studio by the North Sea. 

This month you can catch Tim DJing in Italy's city of Chieti and playing live at the Golden Lion in Todmorden in the UK. This year he has releases coming on @italo_moderni, @disco-frisco as well as a new album on his @dungeon-module imprint.

Most notably Gavin supported The Prodigy on their European tour in cities such as Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg in 2015-2016. Mod21 is the project of Manuele Chiaravalloti, an italian electronic music producer and experimental sound artist. Born in Satriano, Italy, his musical journey began in 2007 when he moved to Switzerland. Here, after 7 years of musical research, produces his first two works released on the Munich based label Prologue. His music emerges from a deep and rich imagination which flows into sounds dark and slippery that seem to be born in the bowels of a parallel world to ours. Browsing increasingly abstract concepts of sound, carefully processed , the result is a particular footprint easily recognizable.

Lindsey Wang, also known as Polygonia, is a versatile art & music project based in Munich, Germany. Her preceding intensive and long practice playing several instruments as well as the experiences with other art forms, inspired the artist to translate her understanding of rhythm, composition & experimentalism into music. She creates mystic, deep soundscapes with a palette ranging from bright moods with lots of atmosphere & harmony, to the polyrhythmic abyss of techno or dark ambient. Polygonia is also a core member of the Label IO, that she co-founded together w. Dycide and MTRL.

PRIOR ACT #031  — Polygonia

One last mix to end the year. When Svreca sent me this set, he could not have known what it would mean to me. I have spent so much time looking back lately, reliving old discussions and re-imagining moments passed, often lamenting how much was lost along the way. In just under three hours this mix communicates the flow of years. An archived recording from a special memory, it reminds me that the passage of time is beautiful even in what it fades away. Listening to it, I become lost completely, as though I am everywhere at once.
