This song I wrote in honor of Maternal Mental Health awareness, as I wrote it after my own experience, and after experiences of helping other mothers, through mental health disorders after giving birth. May we all fly up at the first sign of daylight after the night, just like the lark.

Lark

I wrote this song as I reflected on the huge task of maintaining the flame of love within a long-term relationship. There comes a time when responsibility, the opposite of desire, can weigh down your boat together, making it harder to ride the adventurous waves of life...you find yourself taking the gentle rivers more than the roaring rapids (as you may have done in your past together). Long-love is steady, but with ebbs and flows...cycles...gotta keep stoking that fire and trying with each new moon.

I wrote this song as a love song to the breathtaking landscape of the southwestern United States - it is so awe-inspiring, and its terrain reminded me of some terrains in a long-term relationship. It can seem like your scratching up your thighs on dry rocks, losing your way here and there, but together you can ride the Colorado River through and refresh after the desert-time that can happen in life.
