The x'mple is better known as Kristof Vanpassel. An ambitious person when it comes to everything to do with music, producing and performing. At the age of 12 he already had his first commodore 64 from which he bleeped his first monotonous 16bit sounds loop-wise. This kept him fascinated until he discovered that sneaking into the Leuven Silo club without parental consent was just as cool. At the age of fifteen, he already shaked on performances of Disco D, Uros Umek, Dave Clarke, Space Dj'z and others. After years of evolution and influences, he still has a preference for the more technically inclined DJs mentioned above. From set after set watching in awe at all the beauty the deck wizards conjured up from their equipment, a person becomes a bit more critical. Here is the moment when The x'mple thought that if he could do it just as well or even better, he should start spinning records himself. It was therefore a breeze for the ambitious Kristof to collect his gear in no time in 2003 and started playing sets himself. From electro (clash) to (minimal) techno. Shortly before that moment he decided to focus on producing. Since he quickly mastered dj'ing; producing is his greatest passion to this day. Most of his time is devoted to producing electronic music. He says he's putting so much time into it for performing an album live in the near future. His style; uptempo (128BPM) "in your face" minimaltechouse and techno wickedly disturbed by cuts fx and scratches.
