Released on August 10th via Viper Recordings comes the second single from The Prototypes hotly anticipated debut LP, ‘City of Gold'.

Fully embracing a summer sound with the A-side ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, the production and DJ duo smoothly combine old school style piano chords, signature energized drums and the pulse-racing vocals of Amy Pearson. Already receiving nationwide radio support, the single package also includes a sultry house remix from the talented Jade Blue and an electro-fuelled "Big Top" dancefloor rework by The Prototypes themselves.

The B-side stays true to The Prototypes heavy hitting, galactic-inspired sound, with the whirring ‘Humanoid’. Exciting and rhythmical use of synth patterns alongside vocal interjections make this the ideal follow up to the hugely popular 'Pale Blue Dot'.

The Prototypes have worked their magic again with this release, combining the euphoric house elements of 'Don’t Let Me Go' with their trademark pumping bass lines and weighty drops in 'Humanoid'. There's a storm on the horizon. For those that know what's up in the bass-heavy music scene, the forthcoming Tantrum Desire album, “Diversified”, is one of the most anticipated releases of 2015. You just need to check recent sets and radio shows from heavy-hitters like Friction, DJ Hype and Drumsound & Bassline Smith to see that cuts from the LP are already making their presence felt.

And now here's “Oblivion”, the single that shows just how monumental the Tantrum Desire sound has become.

This track encapsulates multiple sides to that sound. The intro is pure seduction, with a slick rhythm section of bass plucks, laid-back drumming and piano chords under the light and grace of Solah's vocals. As an edge of percussive hardness creeps into her voice, all of a sudden the energy builds and it's clear there's a switch-up coming. Then the drop delivers that to full capacity, cutting through the smoky atmosphere with high-energy synth hits and the type of call and response between bass and mid-range that mark this out as pure Tantrum Desire.

The breakdown gives us yet another facet, as jungle breaks float in and around the piano and vocals to offer gratitude to the old skool. Then there's a second drop to put it all together, showcasing weighty bass, euphoric high-end and a deftly technical approach to delivering the chord changes.

“Oblivion” is Tantrum Desire in concentrated form, a lethal dose of musicianship, ultra-clean production skills, respect for their D&B heritage and dancefloor hype. This is a killer which is immediately going to find its place across raves and airwaves. Check it, and hold tight because the album “Diversified” has a lot more where that came from.
