The installation reflects on the relationship between the direct experience of multi-day hiking trips in remote regions of Russia and the experience of this experience upon returning from nature to the city. According to Kant, the feeling of the Sublime is provided by the distance in relation to the source of dangerous natural beauty. Similarly, the acoustic picture in the room changes when the listener stands at the maximum distance from the corner sound sources, i.e. in the center of the room, the only place where the additional voice is heard.

Coming from the metal and post-industrial scene, I retain an interest in radical and experimental forms of sonic expression. However, even my most abstract or harsh works retain a strong narrative element. Among the topics I work with as a sound artist are personal memory and its plasticity, human relationship with nature in anthropocene, violence and melancholy. As a NEN records (@nenrecs) label curator I foster experimental blends of noise, techno, metal etc. paying special attention to the hidden gems of the Russian underground. My sociological/anthropological background reflects in my work in different ways, from the choice of topics to the use of sociological methods in collecting data for further use in sound.
