After opening up the account on their new label earlier this year, Krankbrother return to the imprint with two new tracks, which show off the differing shades of their musical dexterity.

Up on our Debut Transmission is A-side ‘When You’re Watching Me’, a fully formed Summer belter, which ticks all the boxes required for a modern day, sunrise dance classic. A thunderous sub-bass line booms over delicate drums, the percussion lightly soaked in reverb as the filters open and close on the soft & melodic arpeggiated riffs.

All the hallmarks of a classic piece of euphoric electronica are here, best exemplified by the syrupy female vox and Balearic tones, and a hefty breakdown that really ramps up the drama. Shades of the 90’s big guns like Underworld and Fluke are here, but perhaps more in the grandiose style in which ‘When You’re Watching Me’ has been delivered, either way, it’s most certainly one of Krankbrother’s best to date.

Based in Berlin, Kruse and Nuernberg have become an integral part of the underground electronica scene, synonymous with tastefully crafted house music. The duo are notorious for working different influences and collaborators into their repertoire, and the release of 'Lost n Free' on March 10th continues their tradition of high quality output. This time, they have collaborated with British producer and songwriter Brolin, who has written a heart melting vocal for this release. As the lyrics and melody swirl across an uplifting instrumental, it becomes obvious that 'Lost n Free' is the soundtrack for those introspective, early morning moments. The B side, 'Doin It' takes the release underground with its pulsing synths and piano stabs that gradually build over contagious basslines and swung drum hits.

A loosely hewn sliver of emotion constructed just a smidgeon off grid, there's a natural momentum as we're thrust deep inside a vociferous synth hook that rises unapologetically, gradually taking us to a surprise pivot. From here the articulation switches, a whole layer of weight and emphasis on the riff opens up and your crowd won't just elevate, they'll levitate. Kruse & Nuernberg have been a constant presence in the spotlight of the house scene for a while now. Growing their own style, always deep but intense and bouncy, flirting sometimes with soul, sometimes with techno and always with an overall feel of good vibes and energy translated directly into moving feet and rump shaking in dancefloors all around the globe.
They have released music on various labels such as Liebe*Detail, Rejected and Lazy Days (where they released an album in 2012). Not only have they produced remixes for Matthew Dear, Groove Armada and Dennis Ferrer, they’ve also had some of their tracks reworked by Wolf&Lamb, Spirit Catcher, Fred Everything, Tom Middleton and Vincenco. 
’Yokohama Nights’ is the follow-up to their ’Lost N Free EP’ with Brolin which they released on Off. Their collaboration with Brolin marks a different step of K&N’s career taking their music to new, unknown more song-orientated territory. Brolin has been a favourite on Pitchfork, Dazed, The Guardian, Dummy, Pidgeon and Planes and Noisey. The UK producer and Phantom of the Opera fanatic (we can only assume by his choice of maskwear) sings in an eery, seductive mode over sinewy synths and a chattering, dry beat. Perhaps to add a little more definition to Brolin’s work, he’s named each of his available songs so far after different cities (’NYC’, ’Lisboa’ and ’Reykjavic’). On his collaboration track with Kruse & Nuernberg he sings about Yokohoma Nights in Tokyo, Japan.
