Ask Emma Torrison, also known as Emmrose, about her craft, and she’ll tell you that she writes music about the people who make her lonely and for the people who don’t. One might expect words this wise to come from a musician who’s lived a lot. But, Emmrose is all of 15 years old. 
 
The young singer/songwriter is releasing her latest single, “Can You Feel It?” which she wrote and recorded with EDM artist, Rebecca ‘Krystalmath’ Rossi.
 
“The song has a simple premise,” shares Emmrose. “It’s about someone you’d like to scream at for not feeling the same way you do.”

Born and raised in lower Manhattan, Emmrose began playing piano at eight. By the age of 12, she was performing her own music at piano recitals. A year later, she took to expressing her experiences with friendships and teen romances by writing pop music. Along the way, Emmrose taught herself to play the ukulele and the electric bass.
 
Currently, Emmrose is a student at LaGuardia High (the same school attended by Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Aniston, and other celebrated stars). She first began collaborating with Krystalmathin 2016.
 
“I was going through a period where I had lost some inspiration and confidence in my own voice and writing ability,” shares Krystalmath. “During that time, I noticed that I had a budding songwriter as one of my piano students who also happened to have a beautiful voice. So I decided to throw one of my songs out there during a piano lesson, and see what happened. That songwriter, of course, is Emmrose. And, after her brilliant input, we ended up with ‘Can You Feel It?’”
 
Emmrose - even at age 15 - plans for everything life gives her. 
 
“If this music thing takes off, I’ll go with that,” she says. “I’ll write more, do more and have a blast. If nothing happens, then I’ll still be okay. I’ll write more songs, I’ll never stop writing. It’s too important. Really.”
