This build-up feels bit weird here because afterwards there's quite a big break and then it returns to the same energy level as before

Yeah the kick is really in front stealing the otherwise pretty good track's thunder.

I appreciate the idea behind the kick in the foreground while the track is in the background, but i'll agree with the others that the kick is stealing some great sounds and ideas in the track, still keep it up you have some great ideas and sounds in the track :)

The thing is, I don't think the Kick is hitting too hard for techno.

Otherwise this is very convincing! Musically it's right in the genres wheelhouse.

i wonder if the imbalance in the mix could perhaps be a result of mixing at a too high volume? try turning it down a bit next time, and see if that gives you a better idea of what's going on.

This song is made with only one open-source synthesizer called "Surge XT" in the Digital Audio Software "Reaper" with only a few free effects (EQ, Compressor, Limiter).

In this track for the OSC # 159 I used 33 instances of the free Surge XT synthesizer.

DAW: Cubase 11 Pro (Frequency, GEQ-30,  Stereo Delay,  Revelation, Tube Compressor, AutoPan and Maximizer)

Free 3rd party plugs: Panagement 2 by Auburn, Baby Come Back by Baby Audio, MCharmverb by Melda Production, Wider by Polyverse Music and Supermassive by Valhalla.

All sounds are TSOM originals. Except: Flutish Organ and the 10CC Choir Pad are tweaks I did with some wonderful presets by Martijn Deluxe. The Alien Voice has been created using the Vowel/Speech wavetable in Surge's TWIST engine.
