Version 1 of this piece was premiered during the MANTIS music conference in Manchester, early in 2015.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance is an etude-like piece that explores the use of molecular sonification, a type of sonification used in organic and analytical chemistry. The sonification of Hydrogen Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (H-NMR) spectra of more than 50 molecules found in the human body forms the sonic basis of the composition and further additions to the aural compendium are made through basic sound shaping techniques such as amplitude modulation and micro-editing, frequency modulation and graintable synthesis.

The placement of sonic material in the composition is related to the type and degree of their sonic transformation, each partition of the composition focusing on a different type of sound transformation process, systematically exploring the use of molecular sonification as an aesthetical tool for acousmatic composition.

The infrared wavelenth's absorbed by ethanol thin film were calculated into Hz. This process created eight sounds - eight frequencies that are used in the song. Only drums are not alcohol processed sounds.
