Alongside additional mixing by Grammy Nominated Steven Wilson, ANATHEMA also brought in the legendary services of Dave Stewart (Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson) to create the new album’s extraordinary orchestral arrangements. ANATHEMA has been at the forefront of the UK rock movement since its inception, influencing a myriad of bands to follow. What began as a pioneering journey of melodic heavy music has outgrown all genres and limitations, fearlessly exploring new territories and new ways to express feeling through sound and now their star is rising ever higher.

distant satellites will be instantly recognisable to ANATHEMA’s global army of ardent disciples as another chapter in this band’s remarkable story. With a few strides into uncharted territory, not least the electronica-driven surge of the album’s stunning title track, distant satellites will surely be recognised as not only their finest album to date but as one of the most celebrated and lauded albums of 2014. A gleaming anthology of beautifully crafted songs, performed with vitality, verve and utmost passion, once again demonstrating the sublime, instinctive song writing talents of the Cavanagh brothers and drummer John Douglas. In 2010 Anathema released We’re Here Because We’re Here, the band’s first new album for almost seven years. The album was awarded Classic Rock’s Prog Album of the Year as well as a host of other accolades and the producer, Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), has described it as “definitely among the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on.”
The band now return with Weather Systems, their brand new studio album. The album will be available as a limited edition 2 disc set which will come packaged in a deluxe digibook and feature a 5.1 surround sound mix of the album.

Anathema have been at the forefront of the UK rock/metal movement for many years. They began their journey as pioneers of melodic heavy music, influencing a myriad of bands to follow them, before outgrowing all genres and limitations as they fearlessly explored new territory and new ways to express feeling through sound.

Formed in Liverpool in 1990, the band’s sound, and musical vision has continually evolved over the ensuing years while always remaining true to their original goal of creating forward thinking, meaningful, passionate and honest music. The line-up is really a collective of two families who were quite simply born to do it. Anathema consists of brothers Vincent, Daniel and Jamie Cavanagh, alongside childhood friends John Douglas and his sister Lee, who is an incredible singer in her own right.

There is a deeper bond in the group that transcends usual band politics, ego, and self-interest. They have a shared vision: to make the most incredible music they possibly can, and it seems, despite the lavish praise heaped on the band for their past work, that they are now taking their work to a whole new level.

The record label Kscope was created in May 2008 to provide a home for the growing post-progressive genre and an evolving, flexible and adventurous style of music without boundaries.

In recent years, a growing movement of bands has started to reclaim and reinvent aspects of the progressive, post-punk and post-rock genres, re-establishing a desire to experiment with eclectic musical sources and state of the art widescreen sonic possibilities.
