Les saisons à l’envers 

Depuis 1998, Balmino a évolué dix ans comme chanteur, auteur et compositeur au
sein du groupe Khaban' (3 albums, 300 dates dont les Francos de La Rochelle, Spa,
Montreal) puis sous son nom Balmino avec une incursion en 2013 dans le gros rock
(BROC "Des Trucs Qui Poussent").
Depuis 2013, la majorité de son activité s'est déroulée au théâtre aux côtés du metteur en scène Emmanuel Meirieu avec lequel il a partagé 7 spectacles et, là encore, plus de 300 représentations (dont plusieurs fois les Bouffes du Nord, mais aussi le théâtre du Rond-Point, La Villette et de nombreuses scènes nationales).
Les Saisons à L’envers. Un disque écrit en deux ans et façonné pendant deux mois au studio La Ciergerie de Lyon en binôme avec Julien Jussey qui l'a réalisé et arrangé.
« Ecrit en grande partie pendant les confinements, « les saisons à l’envers » est
le septième album, le disque bilan de 50 ans de vie sur terre, parfois sous terre
et régulièrement dans les airs aussi, de la traversée compliquée des « années Macron », de sa vision du monde et de ce qu’il devient.

C’est une foule de petites lucioles allumées sur le temps vécu autant qu’une curiosité
dévorante de profiter du temps qui reste. C’est un tout petit accès à une forme de
sérénité non dépourvue pour autant des questionnements et des doutes qui l’ont
toujours portés.
Une forme différente de les appréhender, certainement.
Plus pragmatiquement, c’est un voyage à quatre mains dans neuf nouvelles
chansons, accueillies et cuisinées par son ami Julien Jussey qui a réalisé, arrangé ce
merveilleux disque 
En parallèle à ces activités, Balmino a également écrit pour d'autres interprètes
(Olivia Ruiz, Babylon Circus, Maïa Barouh, Evelyne Gallet...)

'Your Wilderness', their 11th studio album, showcases the band performing without any inhibitions providing a springboard for the ongoing creative growth of The Pineapple Thief.

For the first time, The Pineapple Thief has brought in several special guest performers. “Since our last album Magnolia, the most eye catching change is obviously having Gavin Harrison contribute drums throughout the album” explains Bruce Soord.  “This has not only redefined our sound but also redefined how we approached the songs as a band.  Gavin's drumming is technically brilliant but also incredibly musical, and it inspired all of us to raise our game.  I've also rediscovered my progressive roots in terms of song-writing and arrangement.  Added to that, we were lucky enough to have John Helliwell from Supertramp contribute some beautiful clarinet parts and Geoffrey Richardson (Caravan) provided a string quartet. We were also joined by a lovely 4 piece choir and to cap it all off, my friend Darran Charles (Godsticks) added some jaw dropping guitar playing... You've never heard a The Pineapple Thief album like this one!  I am convinced people will love this record as much as we do.”
 
The Pineapple Thief will be playing Be Prog! My Friend Festival in Barcelona, Spain on 1st July and is currently booking a European tour for late 2016 and planning live shows in USA / Canada.

Dan Tompkins - “It's been fantastic to re-visit & re-work the vocals to some of the Polaris tracks from a different angle and with the benefit of time and space. The normal process of writing TesseracT songs starts with the creation of the music followed by the lyrical content; this time Acle and Aidan have stripped away the music and re-created the songs based around the vocals. As a result this has allowed much more breathing space between both and also highlighted much more detail in the performance."
