According to a stamp on the sleeve, this particular disc was purchased at the Victor Talking Machine Company, Main Street, Plymouth, Mass. Whizbang!!

I had 10 audio files on my computer that all lasted 40 seconds long. I combined them in Audacity, played with levels a bit, and let them shine chaotically.

CFP: Soundwriting Pedagogies

I'm not making this up: this is the instrumental track to a song that will be based on The Radio Amateur's Handbook (http://www.gutenberg.org/files/6934/6934-h/6934-h.htm). It's part of a scholarly project on soundwriting pedagogies. Like I said: I'm not making this up.

A lively rampage through sonic connections: those moments where a song echoes another song, reminds us of our past, or touches on those texts that we love the most.

This is an adaptation of a presentation given at the 2013 Computers and Writing conference, revised here for a general audience. This work is published in Technoculture (https://tcjournal.org/), but since the site was down the last time I checked, I'm allowing people to listen and download here.

Among lots of clips that I use through fair use (I'm commenting/critiquing/transforming short clips) are two audio clips licensed by CC: salaisuuxa, "Classical guitar" and exDigita, "Keyboard test."
