Recorded in July 1981, the song was written by Bowie with Italian producer Giorgio Moroder. The 1981 recording has been described as one of "the finest of Bowie's recordings of the 1980s". A re-recorded version of the song, created a year and a half later, appears on the album Let's Dance (1983). The director Paul Schrader engaged Bowie for a theme song in 1981, with Moroder having already recorded most of the music. Bowie was to put lyrics to the main theme. The B-side is a Moroder-only instrumental which featured no input from Bowie.
The song itself, in keeping with the dark tone of the film, has some goth rock influences, with Bowie singing in a deep baritone croon while being backed up by a female chorus. Bowie's octave leap on the word "gasoline" has been called "a magnificent moment" and "among the most thrilling moments he ever committed to tape".

The "Real Cool World"  by David Bowie Released on 10 August 1992, it represented his first new solo material since the dissolution of the band Tin Machine. The track marked a reunion with Let's Dance producer Nile Rodgers, with whom Bowie began working in the first half of 1992. "Real Cool World" was the first song to come out of their year-long collaboration. After releasing this song, Bowie intended to go back to his band Tin Machine to record a third album, but when the band fell apart, Bowie and Rodgers instead recorded and produced the songs for Bowie's next solo album, Black Tie White Noise (1993). David Live is the first official live album by David Bowie, originally released by RCA Records in 29 October 1974. The album was recorded in July of that year, on the initial leg of Bowie's Diamond Dogs Tour, at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. The second leg, a more soul-oriented affair following recording sessions in Philadelphia for the bulk of Young Americans, would be renamed 'the Soul tour', as reflected on the live releases, Cracked Actor (Live Los Angeles '74) (2017) and I'm Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74) (2020).The album catches Bowie in transition from the Ziggy Stardust/Aladdin Sane glam-rock era of his career to the 'plastic soul' of Young Americans.[While the cover featured a picture of Bowie in his latest soul threads – baggy trouser suit complete with shoulder pads and braces from October 1974 – the music was recorded in July of that year when he was showcasing his two most recent studio albums of original material, Diamond Dogs and Aladdin Sane, as well as selected favourites from Ziggy Stardust and earlier.The tour was Bowie's most ambitious to date, featuring a giant set designed to evoke "Hunger City", the post-apocalyptic setting for Diamond Dogs, and his largest band, led by Michael Kamen. In Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Phillip Jeffries, played by David Bowie, suddenly exits an elevator in the Philadelphia FBI office, two years after his disappearance. He hurries to the office of his former superior, Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole and starts raving in a loud and disturbed manner, referring at one stage to Special Agent Cooper and yelling “Who do you think this is, there?”Jeffries goes on to narrate where he has been since his disappearance. He mentions names and incidents that are unfamiliar to those listening. His words are illustrated by the intrusion of a ghost transmission showing a small group of characters, including The Man From Another Place and BOB, in a series of strange rooms.He disappears into thin air once again after announcing “I found something... and then there they were!”Jeffries is frequently mentioned in the 2017 series, which reveals that he was the original leader of the Blue Rose Task Force and was involved in the first Blue Rose case, alongside Cole. An unseen individual identifying as him assigns Ray Monroe to kill Cooper's doppelgänger. Albert Rosenfield also informs Cole that he was contacted by an individual claiming to be Jeffries, which led to the killing of an agent stationed in Colombia. Cole later re-experiences Jeffries' sudden reappearance in a dream and remembers Jeffries' comment about Cooper, implying that Cooper may have been an imposter.With the death of Bowie, Jeffries is depicted as a grey orb right by a giant steaming kettle in a room above the convenience store. Cooper's doppelganger approached it, after receiving info on his whereabouts from Ray Monroe. Dale Cooper later encounters Jeffries to access 1989 to rescue Laura Palmer in Part 17.The soundtrack to Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me was released on Warner Bros. Records on August 11, 1992. It includes music by Angelo Badalamenti, who had composed and conducted the music on the television series and its original soundtrack.In addition to his instrumental compositions, Fire Walk with Me's soundtrack features vocal accompaniment to Badalamenti's songs by jazz vocalist Jimmy Scott and dream pop singer Julee Cruise. Badalamenti performs vocals on "A Real Indication" and "The Black Dog Runs at Night", two songs by the Thought Gang, a musical project between Badalamenti and David Lynch. Lynch wrote the lyrics for several of the soundtrack's songs, including "Sycamore Trees", "Questions in a World of Blue", "A Real Indication" and "The Black Dog Runs at Night", and was the soundtrack's producer alongside Badalamenti.Upon its release, Fire Walk with Me's soundtrack charted in the United States, peaking at number 173 on the Billboard 200. Lust for Life is the second solo studio album by American musician Iggy Pop, released on September 9, 1977, through RCA Records. It was his second collaboration with English musician and friend David Bowie after The Idiot, released in March the same year. Shortly after Bowie released his own album Low in January, Pop went on a tour to support The Idiot with Bowie as his keyboardist. At the tour's conclusion, Pop and Bowie regrouped in Berlin to record the former's next solo album.Lust for Life was recorded at Hansa Studio by the Wall in West Berlin from May to June 1977, with production being handled by Bowie, Pop, and engineer Colin Thurston. The touring band of Pop, Bowie, guitarist Ricky Gardiner, and brothers Tony Fox and Hunt Sales on bass and drums, respectively, comprised the primary lineup for the album. After The Idiot was mostly composed by Bowie, Pop was adamant about having more control over Lust for Life, often composing his own arrangements, including for "Sixteen". Next in the compiler hotseat for seminal mix series ‘Back to Mine’ is the legendary DJ and producer Fatboy Slim. Having sold over 10 million records and embarked on a number of sold out arena tours, the esteemed record collector and all round great selector delves deep into his weighty collection at his home to create a heady journey of funk and soul. The collection opens with Dave Barker & Ansel Collins ‘Monkey Spanner’ – a reggae single released in 1971 from the Kingston based duo working for the infamous producer Lee “Scratch” Perry.
There are a few rare finds, Donal Leace ‘Today Won’t Come Again’, Wind ‘Grooving With Mr. Bloe’ and Googie Rene Combo ‘Smokey Joe’s La La’. And the most recognisable for many no doubt is Betty Chung’s 1968 classic ‘Bang Bang’ thanks to the vocals of the Nancy Sinatra cover being sampled in the Audio Bullys rework in 2005.

My Life in the Bush of Ghosts is a studio album by Brian Eno and David Byrne, released in February 1981. It was Byrne's first album without his band Talking Heads. The album integrates sampled vocals and found sounds, African and Middle Eastern rhythms, and electronic music techniques. It was recorded before Eno and Byrne's work on Talking Heads' 1980 album Remain in Light, but problems clearing samples delayed its release by several months.The extensive sampling on My Life is considered innovative, though its influence on later sample-based music genres is debated.Eno and Byrne first worked together on More Songs About Buildings and Food, the 1978 album by Byrne's band Talking Heads. My Life in the Bush of Ghosts was primarily recorded during a break between the Talking Heads albums Fear of Music (1979) and Remain in Light (1980), both produced by Eno. Eno had also recently recorded Fourth World, Vol. 1: Possible Musics with Jon Hassell, who intended to collaborate with Eno and Byrne on the album, but could not afford to fly to California for the recording sessions. Upon hearing the tapes, Hassell felt "outraged" at what he felt was an appropriation of his music.Eno described My Life as a "vision of a psychedelic Africa". Rather than conventional pop or rock singing, most of the vocals are sampled from other sources, such as commercial recordings of Arabic singers, radio disc jockeys, and an exorcist. Musicians had previously used similar sampling techniques, but, according to Guardian writer Dave Simpson, sampling had never before been used "to such cataclysmic effect". In 2001, Eno cited Holger Czukay's experiments with dictaphones and shortwave radios as earlier examples of sampling. He felt that the "difference was, I suppose, that I decided to make [sampling] the lead vocal".The release was delayed while legal rights were sought for the large number of samples used on the album.A sample of an evangelist Kathryn Kuhlman performing an exorcism intended for "The Jezebel Spirit" was refused by her estate as they objected to the context it was to be used in.The album title is derived from Amos Tutuola's 1954 novel My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. According to Byrne's 2006 liner notes, neither he nor Eno had read the novel, but they felt the title "seemed to encapsulate what this record was about".Soon after the album was released, the Islamic Council of Great Britain objected to the use of samples of Qur'anic recital in the track "Qu'ran", considering it blasphemy. Byrne and Eno removed the track from later pressings. In 2006, Byrne said:We thought, "Okay, in deference to somebody's religion, we'll take it off." You could probably argue for and against monkeying with something like that. But I think we were certainly feeling very cautious about this whole thing. We made a big effort to try and clear all the voices, and make sure everybody was okay with everything ... So I think in that sense we reacted maybe with more caution than we had to.Two tracks in the album, "Regiment" and "The Carrier", sampled the voice of Lebanese singer Dunya Younes (credited in the album as Dunya Yunis). Although Byrne and Eno took care to clear it with the label that released the album they took the sample from and also paid for the sampling, Dunya Younes had no idea that her voice was used and only found out in 2017. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence is the soundtrack from the film of the same name, released on 1 May 1983 in Japan and towards the end of August 1983 in the UK. It was composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who also starred in the film. It was the first film score that Sakamoto composed (although it was released several weeks after the film Daijōbu, My Friend, for which he also composed the music).
Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has since become a cult classic, largely due to its soundtrack. For the film's soundtrack, Sakamoto won the 1984 BAFTA Award for Best Film Music as well as the 1984 Mainichi Film Award for Best Film Score. David Sylvian contributed lyrics and vocals on "Forbidden Colours", a vocal version of the main theme, "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", both of which were released as singles. In spite of the shadow of AIDs and reactionary political and media forces both at home and in the USA, the period 1980 1990 bore witness to a dazzling explosion of dance music that artfully drew a line from the peak of late 70s disco to the emergence of house and it's 90s glory days. The art of the 12" single, the thrill of the remix, the rise of the superclub, the electronic spark of chart pop, the challenging of gender barriers… all had their origin in the gay clubs. It's not unreasonable to make the claim that by the end of the 80s, virtually ALL chart pop music sounded like it had it's origins on the dancefloors of Heaven nightclub!

The first album was released in February 1996 in the UK and 9 July 1996 in the US. The comparatively huge fanbase for both the film and the original soundtrack prompted the release of a second soundtrack on 17 September  1997. This second album included songs from the film that did not make the cut for the first album, as well as songs that did not appear in the final film but were involved at earlier stages or were used as inspiration by the filmmakers, and one duplicate song. The popularity of the first volume led EMI to reissue it and continue to press it since 16 June 2003.
In 2007, the editors of Vanity Fair magazine ranked the original Trainspotting soundtrack as the 7th best motion picture soundtrack in history. It was ranked #17 on Entertainment Weekly's 100 Best Movie Soundtracks . Nobody's Clown  ...........Founded by producer/drummer Gabriel Rowland and singer/songwriter Victor Benavides in Altadena, CA in 2017, Los Yesterdays remained – literally – a garage band for years, a chance for the duo to create their take on the sweet soul music that enveloped childhood experience as young Chicanos in LA. 
In a Billboard article about them and their scene, it was noted - “…there is a generations-long appreciation for sweet soul music among California’s Latino communities. Eastern Los Angeles teens.... helped foster a love of sweet soul in the early ‘60s by covering soulful ballads by artists like James Brown... Those sounds.... were kept alive by record collectors and people who spent evenings cruising along East Los boulevards."
A chance meeting between Rowland and Now-Again’s Egon at a barbecue hosted by Beastie Boys’ producer Mario C got them talking about their favorite sweet soul 45s. Rowland pulled out his phone and played the first Los Yesterdays track he and Benavides created – “Mr. Yesterday” – and Egon immediately offered them an opportunity on his label. This was followed by an offer from Daptone’s Gabe Roth for his Penrose imprint.  Now, after a series of singles including an unlikely Tik-Tok hit “Nobody’s Clown” and work with Trish Toledo, Los Yesterdays will issue their debut album, Frozen in Time. Los Yesterdays, a Latin soul artist cut from the Joe Bataan/Delfonics/James Brown cloth that feels like it could have been recorded decades ago.Opening with a serene harp, “Nobody’s Clown” settles into a slithering and sexy salsa beat punctuated by horns, more harp, and Spanish guitar to create a pensive ballad that feels delivered via time warp. (It’s a testament to the timeless nature of the song that TikTok has latched on to it hard.) The title track leans into classic Motown soul, recalling immortal classics like Billy Paul’s “Me and Mrs. Jones” or Aaron Neville’s “Tell it Like it Is.” “Something Happened” starts with a piano riff straight out of the Carole King playbook and moves into an unexpected Latin swing—just add a little conga and the undeniable scraping of the güiro to make the influence all the more obvious. The entire record continues on in the same direction, with echoes of Gamble & Huff and Philadelphia soul, all filtered through the pop-leaning tendencies of Fania Records and artists like Ray Baretto, Willie Bobo, and War.

Los Yesterdays

Ready, Set Go! (Live, Riverside Studios ’03) is a recording of Bowie’s Sept. 8, 2003, interactive music satellite event. It took place at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London, and played in 86 theaters in 26 countries and featured a Q&A with Bowie.
The special one-off concert featured Bowie’s first-ever live performance of his then-new album Reality. The special one-off live concert was beamed via satellite Monday, September 8 from London’s Riverside Studios, simultaneously to 50,000 fans in 86 cinemas in 26 countries around the planet from Hong Kong to Helsinki. There were 14 screens in Paris alone dedicated to the show.
BOWIE thrilled fans across Europe with a spectacular, first-ever live performance of his brand new album REALITY, due September 16 on ISO/Columbia Records. The performance of the album was followed by precedent-setting interactive question and answer session between BOWIE and fans in cinemas in London, Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels and Milan.
The event marked many firsts in technological terms: it was the biggest ever non-TV satellite broadcast, the first ever interactive cinema event and the first live satellite event in 5.1 DTS surround sound, which was overseen by longtime BOWIE collaborator, Tony Visconti. Bowie Ready, Set Go! Live at Riverside Studios 2003 (Bonus Tracks)

A new selection of Japanese funk and boogie Relesed between 1974 and 1988 and featuring Buzz, Fujimaru Band, Keiko Toda, Kumiko Sawada. A breezy selection of Funk and Boogie recorded in Japan for King Records in the 70s and 80s.
Most tracks here are making their debut outside of Japan . The selection kicks off with the group Buzz, a folk duet formed in the early '70s by Hiroshi Koide and Masakazu Togo who released a handful of albums for King during the '70s. The track "Garasumado" (Glass Window) is from the 1974 album Requiem The City which was produced by Nobuyuki Takahashi, the older brother of future YMO superstar Yukihiro Takahashi. At the time both were members of cult group Sadistic Mika Band. Next comes the synth boogie sound of singer Mami Ayukawa, who was active on the Japanese music scene in the mid-'80s, followed by drummer Johnny Yoshinaga's 1978 hard funk "The Rain" featuring great keyboards action from Hiroyuki Namba, one of Tatsuro Yamashita's key musicians. Keiko Toda's mid-tempo delight "Fade In" was released in 1983 and adds a touch of class to the ensemble with its languid rhythm and synth riffs. The rest of Tokyo Bliss alternate between the stylish funk-folk floater "Bokura no Date" by Koji Kobayashi from 1978 and the '80s funk bomb "Your Love's Away" by Kumiko Sawada, produced by prolific guitarist Kazuo Takeda with his group Creation, who is backing Sawada here. The selection closes with the superb Moog and Fender Rhodes-led space funk instrumental "Paper Machine" released in 1977 by Fujimaru Band and which ends the set on a perfect note.                                                                                                                    1	Buzz (29 ) – Garasumado

The first album by Lexi . Lexi Jones or Lexi Bowie, born Alexandria Zahra Jones on August 15, 2000 in New York, is the daughter of British singer-songwriter David Bowie and his second wife, American model of Somali origin Iman  .     Lexi Jones is the half-sister of film director Duncan Jones, born twenty-nine years earlier from Bowie's marriage to Angela Barnett, and of Zulekha Haywood, daughter of Iman and basketball player Spencer Haywood, twenty-two years his senior .    After a childhood protected from fame and the media, she lived in 2018 with her mother in the SoHo district of New York and seemed destined for an artistic career (painting, poetry, etc.). She moved to Los Angeles in 2020 where she works as a photographer and fashion designer. The late Heroes icon sadly lost his private battle to cancer in 2016, but his youngest child - who he shared with model, entrepreneur philanthropist Iman - has since been showing the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to musical talent.
24-year-old Lexi, who was born Alexandria Zahra Jones on 15th August 2000, quietly shared her record Xandri on Wednesday 2nd April, after sharing teasers on her Instagram.   The album artwork appears sees a two-headed image on the cover, while it's title Xandri is derived from Greek name Alexandros, Xander and indeed Xandria and means "defender of humankind".    Lexi has always had a creative side, selling her artwork online as far back as 2020 and even going on to create customised clothing and accessories.
In 2023, Lexi first shared her vocal talents on YouTube, with a video of her singing a rendition of her father's iconic hit 1969 track Starman, which is taken from his seminal album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars as well as a sweet rendition of Life On Mars?, which watch first released in Bowie's 1971 album Hunky Dory. Bowie The Very Last Tracks

One of the greatest stars of the rock & roll era, David Bowie evaded easy categorization throughout his career, operating as the artiest rocker within the mainstream and the most accessible musician on the fringe. Bowie may have trafficked in ideas cultivated in the underground, but he was never quite an outsider as far as rock & roll was concerned. From the outset of his career in the 1960s, he attempted to break into the Top 40, playing British blues, mod rock & roll, and ornate pop before finally hitting paydirt as a hippie singer/songwriter. "Space Oddity" gave Bowie his breakthrough in the U.K., reaching the Top Ten in the summer of 1969 -- the summer of Apollo 11 -- and it belatedly performed a similar feat in America, giving him his first Top 20 hit early in 1973. By that point, Bowie had traded his folkie persona for the glam-rock alien Ziggy Stardust, one of the many shifts of sound and image that came to define his career. Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars were a sensation in Britain and a cult phenomenon in the U.S., the foundation of a decade that would see Bowie attempting blue-eyed soul, avant-pop, and experimental electronic rock recorded with Brian Eno. He had hits during this period -- the sleek disco-rock of "Fame" gave him his first American number one in 1975 -- but he didn't become a superstar until Let's Dance, a stylish dance-rock album recorded with Nile Rodgers and designed with MTV in mind. Stardom achieved, Bowie entered a period of uncertainty, righting himself in the 1990s by reconnecting with his hard rock and art roots. As the 21st century arrived, he had settled into a comfortable schedule of touring and recording, a routine that ended in 2003 as he retreated from public view. After a decade of silence, he re-emerged in 2013, beginning a final act that culminated with Blackstar, an album released on his January 8 birthday in 2016. He designed Blackstar as a farewell to an audience who didn't realize he was dying of liver cancer. Two days after its release, Bowie died, leaving Blackstar as his final grand theatrical gesture.

Bowie The Lost BBC Sessions

Bowie wanted to record the concert, something he hadn't always done before, saying "We're intending to film it for posterity; I should hope so. I've always regretted not having filmed things like the 'Diamond Dogs' show. We never filmed the 'Station to Station' show. Or the 'soul' show with Dave Sanborn and those guys. I have absolutely no footage of those things. It's terrible. ... It's infuriating."
Despite this, no official recording of the show has been made available to the public in either audio or video form. A number of performances were filmed and recorded for television and radio broadcasts .  Setlist

Bowie Live at Milton Keynes Again! August 5th, 1990

A creation of electronics whizz-kid Moby, inspired as he was by the Lollapalooza tours, the Area Festival kicked off - as Area One - in 2001. Area Two followed in 2002 since when it has been on hiatus. Featuring Moby himself, Busta Rhymes, The Avalanches, Carl Cox and David Bowie, the sophomore festival ran between July 28th and August 14th 2002, in cities across the US and Canada. When the tour reached Toronto, on August 5th, sadly Busta Rhymes was unable to perform due to problems crossing the border, but the highlight of the day was undoubtedly David Bowie, who most attendees had come to see, and whose set of tunes both old and new was extraordinary. With the whole affair recorded for Live FM Broadcast, the superb performance Bowie gave that mid-summer evening almost 20 years ago lives on.   .............Tracklist

Bowie Area 2 Festival Toronto August 5th 2002

This concert – the very last of the ’78 tour – was filmed com­pletely,but only half of it was broadcast on Japanese TV,in the programme ‘The Young Music Show’. Most of the numbers are accompanied by simultaneous translations into Japanese of the words he is singing. Five Years is one of them – then Dennis Davis suddenly appears wearing some sort of gorilla mask,but after a couple of songs he takes it off again.After Station to Station one can seen the audience shouting for an extra until Bowie comes back to release a cheerful version of TVCI5.
David Bowie completed an intense period of touring with the Low And Heroes tour, which ended with Bowie’s second ever trip to Japan. The five shows were booked in Osaka and Tokyo, ending on December 12, 1978 at the NHK hall.Setlist:

"Major Tom is a fictional astronaut referenced in David Bowie's songs "Space Oddity", "Ashes to Ashes","Hallo Spaceboy","New Killer Star" and "Blackstar".Although never mentioned in the song, an astronaut, possibly Major Tom, does make an appearance in the music video for the song "Slow Burn"..German singer Peter Schilling retold and continued the story of Major Tom in his late 1982 release "Major Tom (völlig losgelöst)", which covered as instrumental by Max Greger.The Tea Party created a song entitled "Empty Glass". The song is written from the perspective of an unnamed person who is questioning Major Tom intensely about the purpose of life. The song also references Ground Control and the Bowie phrases "star man" and "diamond dogs".Finally K.I.A. created a song entitled "Mrs. Major Tom'' sung by Larissa Gomes.
