After spending a decade building a career from songwriting and producing for other artists, Kubla found himself in a life or death situation after being diagnosed with heart failure in late 2019. Getting caught up in the daily lifestyle of a studio environment finally caught up to him. Being confined to a hospital bed definitely slowed everything down and gave him time to reflect on the importance of getting out his own music.
The transition from writing songs for others to telling his own stories all of a sudden felt more natural than ever for him and he could clearly see a vision of him connecting with people through his music.
 
 “Fly Sometimes” is a self-produced/written song that speaks very vulnerably about his own struggle with drug and alcohol addiction and tells his side of the story like only he can. He hopes his message can reach anyone who needs to hear it and hopes to continue to tell his story in the only way he knows how, through music.
 
Sometimes in life tragedies can lead to breakthrough moments and this is exactly the case for the emerging artist, Kubla Kahn!
