Graffiti is a project done by Equiknoxx Music's Kemikal and me, Time Cow. It's a project we just took on one random night while recording the song Girls Like and we're glad we developed it into this work. It's a combination of vintage obscura and fun while recording and mixing, all mixing done by me of course. 4 Tracks were recorded at Equiknoxx Music and 1 recorded at Big 12 records and we'd like to thank everyone who made the project possible and hope you all like it. If you hadn’t guessed by now, we’re big fans of the Swing Ting crew here at Truants. Samrai & Platt have already provided us with a Truancy Volume and a premiere of their track “Bad Riddim“, and Florentino served us up his edit of “Get You Alone” last year. In 2015, Swing Ting fully established their label arm to run alongside their monthly clubnight in Manchester, putting out five releases including their first LP – Madd Again!’s MaddTing Vol. 1. Their first delivery of 2016 comes in the form of “Tease Me”, where they link up with Kingston’s Equiknoxx crew: vocals provided by Kemikal, with Puppy Disco remixing the single. You might remember the original as the closer to Truancy Volume 127.

We’re very lucky to have both tracks for you to listen to here first. “Tease Me” is a kicked-back groove with a gorgeous garage-y bassline and airy keys, which spins back and pops off enough to make anyone wish for the long summer evenings to roll round again. It’s the perfect accompaniment for Kemikal, whose rhymes hype it up just enough to make it perfect for the dancefloor. On the flip, Puppy Disco deftly crafts a carefree vibe, repitching Kemikal’s vocals alongside vocoders and organs to wash away any February blues you might have.

This will mark the first time all of these tracks will be available on vinyl - previously they could only be found on cassette or download. Further, the album will feature unreleased tracks from Cringe Machine as well as a TWINS remix of Love Letters' contribution Nag. An interview of Harsh Riddims' Ryan Parks by 2MR's Mike Simonetti (and vice versa) make up the liner notes and the labels will be throwing parties in NYC and Atlanta to celebrate the release. Harsh Riddims started a few years back. Our first release was a compilation tape featuring some of my best friends. Stefan Ringer (REKchampa), Drew Briggs (Divine Interface), and Matt Weiner (TWINS) live here in Atlanta. They are among the most talented and encouraging individuals I know. B L A C K I E is good friends with Negashi Armada (Bluntfang). Negashi suggested asking him for a track, and he turned in "It's hot livin n' tha south". That's one of my favourite tracks off of the first compilation.

About a year ago, we released the second comp. This record is a mix of the two, featuring a few unreleased tracks. I met RAMZI while on tour in Montreal. Love Letters is my friend Maxime Robillard, who lives in New York City. Think Thrice is a kid in Atlanta that ordered one of Stefan's tapes. We later met at a house party: I'm pretty psyched he's got a track on here! Cringe Machine is my good friend Justin Bauman. He passed away not too long ago, so I feel really fortunate to be able to share one of his songs. He was a big influence on me, and was overall a really sweet and giving person. Much love towards his family! Lastly, Co/Coaches is one half of Coco and Clair, Taylor Nave. She's such a talented song writer, buck performer; she's one my favorites. Hope you dig!
