FROND is a producer and DJ from South East London as well as being one half of Pollination, which is a platform that aims to promote inclusivity through music as well are promoting positive societal change. 

They released a VA back in October featuring tracks from lots of different artists, UK and beyond, with all profits going to Movement On The Ground - a charity working to improve the living conditions for thousands of refugees in the Moria Refugee camp.

The mix is a reflection of my love for 90's-00's proggy trance and techno alongside newer left-field sounds. I wanted to create a varied mix that was rich in colour and texture but also had nostalgic moment running through trying it all together.

We are here to bounce on post-club or deconstructed dance music also known as anti-club, the genre that is gaining momentum by pulling apart the conventions of techno. Crafting a clever space of in-betweenness and experimentation, woman, queer and gender non-conforming artists have been leading the scene since its beginning in the 2010s.

Suyá is a Brazilian self-taught multi-instrumentalist, composer, music producer and audiovisual designer born in Salvador Bahia with a BA in Electronic Composition from Mills College in Oakland. For her journey she has adopted the guitar as her main source of creation( a dedicated passion lasting now for about 15 years), processed by analog and digital pedals. She also expresses a fascination for the manipulation of synthesizers, field recordings and the use of DAWS for the creation of her musical world being open to influences of great experimentalism. Her latest musical endeavor has been the release of her first album entitled Aquarius. A surreal assembly as life itself is. Mixing electronic and organic instrumentation guided by a guitar that sings and a voice that soothes. Poetic lyrics that expand on the knowledge of every little detail of a living spirit. All this inspired by the dawning of the Age of Aquarius initiated with the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter on December 21st 2020. Suyá is also a very active sound designer and soundtrack composer for dance and films. Within her fascination also for the visual arts, Suyá makes use within her solo performances of her personal photography and video portfolio whilst expressing
her subconscious as perceived by her own self. In her music each ornament becomes a peace of her soul where all sentiments and emotions abide in coexistence. Every moment has a rhythm, an essence attached to her memory... The idea is to keep these memories alive in traveling waves of sound. Dynamically Suyá travels from a breeze to increments of harmonic noise, involved by melodies that touch the derm and images that will reflect in the cornea of your mind, forever.

The mix...

Osmosis is the movement of water from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated solution through a partially permeable membrane. The important thing to remember is that osmosis is the movement of WATER ( or other solvent ) not the particles dissolved in the water. On this live experimental electronic set I am mixing different elements that arrangement wise might not be mixed together naturally. Respecting the flow of water, in other words the flow of feelings, to disrupt structure as structure begins to unfold. The sounding elements and particles simply exist within a flow that changes mildly to extremes within one broad yet contained spatial phenomena. This open structure welcomes me to experiment with chance and concentrate not on a formula but on the importance of the singular and unique instances of music whether they translate into preconceived genres or not.
